It was great to had met Joanna and her husband Stephen last year at the Canterbury Festival in "An Audience with". It was a great show and they are a lovely friendly couple.
I always thought JS was funnier than DF and hence that's why DF was jealous of AB FAB coz JL is much funnier than her( DF) ha ha this is so true DF is so not funny even her stand up show was boring after a while
I met her many many years ago when i wasattending the brompton hospital. She was so kind and lovely to talk to. She didnt appear to be in a hurry. She was just a wonderful warm lady with that beautiful voice. I was so in ore i fogot to ask for her autograph. But the memory remain intact and fresh.
I never saw her outside her role as Patsy. First time to see her in an interview, and she is far from her character as Patsy. She seems like the opposite of Patsy. Or I could be wrong.
Eileen Atkins was right. English actors really pride themselves on mastering the American accent but they really don’t. It’s passable to English audiences. They do the same thing over here. There’s nothing more grating than the average American actor trying to do English or God forbid welsh, Scottish or Irish… Yikes What’s odd is that the actors that really do the best American accents tend to be Scottish. James McAvoy really could fool people here. Ewan McGregor is another fantastic example. Oh, and Kelly McDonald.
An interesting thing I've noticed is that a lot of UK actors and actresses do a better job at my accent (Deep South American) than American actors and actresses from other parts of the country. Too bad he's retired, but I bet Daniel Day-Lewis could do a killer DSA accent, lol!
