6:52 I like this film, but watching it always angers me, because throughout the sinking and aftermath, any men who survived it were viewed as cowards. They treated men back in the day - and somewhat to this day - as completely expendable. It always sickened me.
Yeah, I get why they deleted the Lovejoy part. What's in the movie is already pretty ridiculous (the villains are by far the weakest part of the movie) and to have him run arond a sinking ship in hope of fighting for a diamond just makes the guy a complete nutjob. Like that diamond's really gonna be a lot of help when you're drowning and freezing to death
4:40…shit we already spent all this money to come out here, this gazillion dollar boat and equipment. Sorry, Rose. But you just extended your stay out here when you dropped it, because now we are staying in this exact spot and searching for it exhaustively. I honored not snagging it out of your hands crazy old lady, never said I wouldn’t go search for it after! We searching this bihhh
Also, regarding the older fella with the gun in the beginning, I just don’t think there’s a level of “friendship” that exists in which I am taking the gun from my “friend” in that situation, as he runs to safety, while directing me towards certain death; and being like hell yeah I Gotu bro, see you on deck after I deal with your mess down here LOL! Like nah, no one is doing that. Not even with the promise of all the riches. Would’ve been more realistic if in that moment he finally said, you go and do it mf, instead of kind of just rolling his eyes and taking the gun like sigh, sure I Gotu bro. Let James Cameron know about said inconsistencies.
1:31 The older husband refusing to take a space in the lifeboat as he had lived his life and wanted it to be seated with a younger person and his loyal wife refusing to leave his side gives me goosebumps every time.
All those floaty wooden tables and chairs and wall panels and doors, why in the 2 hours did nobody think to get them on deck and lash them together as rafts? Just keeping the torso out of the water would have saved hundreds.
Imagine the hours, the work and the money they spent to create all of these scenes that were cut out, but it didn't matter. The movie was a international spectacle, a huge hit and a cult film to this day, one of the best selling movies ever made!
