I played this game and honestly it is my third favorite final fantasy game. The ending is sad and you realize not every ending in a game is going be good. But this ending hurt i love this game and anyone who says it is not good please play it because i love it.
I remember someone pointing out that the fact that he stabs Noctis right as he starts to look up is likely because he didn't want to have to do it while looking him in the eyes. It's truly a well made scene.
Still a fucking bullshit ending. Of all endings they couldve made him survive or at least found a way. Like give us a 2nd timeline where he survives man
to this day this scene hurts like hell. Noctis went from a 20 year old man who was quite immature to a absolute KING. He is my second favourite character in the Final Fantasy franchise (1st place is still Cloud)
This haunted Somnus even after his death. The wanting to become King cost his entire bloodline to suffer. No wonder he was to stab last before King Regis wherein he was supposed to be the first one to stab
If this story was fleshed out more, out and the magic system wasn’t basically items then this would easily be the goated final fantasy. Even so it’s still one of my favorites
This game actually did a tragedy story right. And it makes me happy. They all fucking die. He's lost everything, the world has fallen, many are dead, etc. Even though he bearts Ardyn, it doesn't change the fact the world fell to him. All that damage and turmoil is still left. The scars the survivors will live with. And to even restore the light, it would cost him his own life. And his friends woul go down fighting to help him achieve this.
I just noticed a small detail that made this even sadder... as Regis is about to stab Noctis, Noct tries to look up at him (4:34), but Regis stabs him before he could, probably because Regis didn't want to look his son in the eye as he kills him :(
Saddest game death not gonna lie I cry still to this day after playing through the game and all the DLCs seen everyone story micros to know the end fate and took it like a True King would your sacrifice will never be forgotten KING NOCTIS LUCIUS CAELUM and his father had to be the final blow to his son damn that hits different man and hard a very sad and proud father
Churches final speech was right. The good guys won, the survivors all cheered, but Noctis never got to see that ending. He never knew if the day was truly saved. For all he knew the world could still be shrouded in darkness. All he had was faith. Faith that the prophecy would rain true.
Anyone else see that his eyes aren't blue in this cutsceen? They aren't the magenta of a soumon ether. More of a burgundy red/Brown. And given that the lighting is blue it can't be that.
4:34 the moment both the Empire and the Kingdom of Lucis became leaderless. Yeah, I know that things would've been worse if Ardyn's soul was left to fester and probably reincarnate, but this death (along with Lunafreya's) becomes instantly meaningless because now there's going to be civil wars and an interregnum in *both* countries. This helps protect the country's safety, but it doesn't protect the country politically.
