I cannot help but follow you eating Muslim food, l was in Nanjing, from 2009 -2019 and they are also a small street selling Muslim food, l love the barbecue lamp, they are not many Muslims living in Nanjing.
I am a Chinese and have been living in Europe and the US over a decade. Frankly speaking, China is the only country that treats all religions equally. US for example claims that they have religious freedom, but remember the US presidents oath by putting their hands on the Christian bible. Yes, you can practice Islam, Sikh, Buddhism and all other religions in the US, but it is impossible to ask for equality with Christianity. So as other countries that have national religion or similar traditions. China has a non-religional government. The government doesn't want any religions to influence politics, therefore, religious groups are limited in politics. But on the other hand, all religions are equal. No single religion is superior to others.

Yes they have freedom of religion. You just can’t do the annoying things that the super religious do in western countries. And you can’t do religion in govt. Absolute separation of church and state. Just like we say in America, but China actually means it lol

Every major university in China has Halal Canteen for Muslim students - Every Muslim majority country has established a good, long lasting, mutually beneficial relationship with China. These countries that are spreading lies are not even Muslim majority countries.
The CCP doesn't mind Chinese people being Muslim as long as they are Muslim AND followers of the CCP. Learn Mandarin first, then you can learn Arabic. Accept the CCP government first, then you can go pray at a Mosque. Study Karl Marx and Mao Zedong first, then you can go read the Quran. Accept the Chinese mainstream culture first, then you get to have your street of Halal restaurants and supermarkets. It can be restrictive, but it's far from banned.
