What I’ve Learned Working as a Student Nurse Assistant (SNA) so far👩🏾‍⚕️ 1. Your team vibe is everything 🌟
A positive team can turn any challenge into a victory. Surround yourself with uplifting colleagues, and watch how you all rise together! 2. Lean on your colleagues-they’ve got your back! 🤝
You’re never alone on the floor. Rely on your team, and be there for them too. 3. Prioritization is key 🗂️
Balancing tasks is crucial. Mastering prioritization helps you stay organized and focused. 4. The omnicell? Not as scary as it seems 😌
At first glance, it’s overwhelming, but once you learn it, it’s your go-to for all things meds and supplies. 5. Ask to practice what you want-go for it! 📝
Don’t wait for opportunities to come to you-seek them out and hone the skills you’re eager to master. 6. If you’re uncomfortable, speak up! 🚨
Trust your instincts. It’s always better to ask or pause if you’re unsure about something. 7. No such thing as a dumb question-ask them all! ❓
Every question you ask is a step towards becoming a better nurse. Never hold back your curiosity. 8. Build connections with your patients 🩺
A little extra care goes a long way. Get to know your patients, and you’ll see the impact in their recovery and your own growth. Final thought: Should you do an SNA program? Absolutely! It gives you a real taste of nursing, helping you find your passion and path in the field. 🌟 #nursingjourney #sna #nursingschool #nursingstudent #foryou

Clinical and lab fit + general equipment! This is what I wear and bring to clinical and lab days. Below I’ve listed where I got each item. ✅Scrubs - hand-me-downs (from a previous student) ✅Shoes - DSW ✅Student ID - provided by school ✅Stethoscope - Amazon ✅Penlight - Amazon ✅Wrist watch - Amazon ✅Water bottle - free school merch ✅Notepad and pen - free school merch ✅Lunch box - Trader Joes (thanks mom!) ✅Tote bag - free school merch Tips: 1. Try your best to only purchase items that you’ll need/use 2. Keep an eye out for student discounts and/or deals online and in-store to save money 3. Whenever you can, please pack a lunch and snacks (it will save you lots of money and time) #clinical #nursingschool #nursingstudent #foryou

Your Diagnosis: First Day Jitters 😳, nursing school edition Your prescription: 💡Get out of your head! • Everyone’s just as nervous as you are on the 1st day of nursing school. • Think less about how out of place you may feel, and instead realize that you’re adjusting to a new environment just like everybody else! 💡Focus on what you can control! • Arrive early enough to get settled before lecture starts. • Grab a quick bite so your stomach doesn’t growl at you while you’re taking notes. • Choose your seat wisely… it will probably be your unassigned “assigned seat” for the rest of the year. 💡Be yourself! • It takes a lot of effort to be someone you’re not. • Try to relax and be your authentic self. When you are yourself, you’re more likely to attract the kind of people who complement your personality and who get along with you. • Plus, these people can become your STUDY BUDDIES! 💡Stay open-minded! • You don’t have to draw harsh conclusions about how your nursing school experience will turn out-especially not after your first day. • Instead, let each day unfold as it does, and keep a mental note of things you do and do not want to be a part of your experience. • Then, take actionable steps toward making your dream your reality! #firstdayofschool #nursingschool #nursingstudent #foryouu

I once read that the thing that scares you the most is probably the thing you’re supposed to and meant to be doing. For me, that is content creation - sharing my stories, being open and vulnerable to the public, and embracing my true and authentic self. Nonetheless, I gave it a try, and here I am, having fun making nursing content! I couldn’t have imagined that I’d find it so fulfilling. ✨My message for you: 1. I encourage you to do it afraid! 2. Go for the thing you’ve always wanted to do ~ Do it afraid until you’re no longer afraid of doing it! #foryou
@sofiigyan
@sofiigyan Месяц назад
My Key Takeaways: ✨Education doesn’t have to end after graduation, and you’re allowed to go back to school at any age. ✨If you don’t see your ideal job description out there, be the one to create it! ✨If someone tells you no, it’s not the end of the road for you. Let that be your motivation to come back stronger and to push harder to achieve your goals, whatever they are (attending your dream school, landing your dream job, etc.) ✨Nursing is an all-encompassing career. Almost everyone I meet that has entered the profession talks about how it was the best decision they ever made. If you stay curious in nursing, doors of opportunity open up in ways that you could never imagine! ✨Always ask around to learn more about something you’re curious about. You never know who you might get connected with! #nursingstudent #nursingschool #nurseresidency #foryou

Remember, future nurse: self-care isn't selfish. Balance your study grind with wellness routines to stay on top of your game. 💛 Stick to a Schedule: Plan out your commitments - study sessions, classes, personal time, etc. If you don’t like making plans, just have a general idea of how your day will flow. A little structure goes a long way! 💛 Eat Nutritiously: Fuel your brain and body with healthy foods. 💛Exercise Regularly: Keep your body moving with at least 150 minutes of moderate intensity activity a week, or 75 minutes of vigorous intensity activity a week. 💛Get Enough Sleep: It’s hard to consistently get good sleep in nursing school. But aim for pulling less all-nighters! 💛Manage Stress: Practice mindfulness and relaxation techniques. Yoga, meditation, and quick walks are some of the many ways to de-stress. 💛Connect with Peers: Your study buddies can also be your really good friends! 💛Seek Help When Needed: Reach out to professors, counselors, friends, family and any other support system you may have. Your community is there for you! #nursingschool #studentnurselife #midfulness #wellness #healthandwellness

every class tho😢
@sofiigyan
@sofiigyan Месяц назад
Here are my top 4 tips to succeed in your nursing courses: ✏️Attend Every Class: Make every class count by being present and attentive. Don’t rely solely on recorded lectures to understand the content. There’s nothing better than hearing the lecture live, and being able to ask your questions right away! ✏️Create a Study Schedule: Design a study schedule that fits your life and keeps you organized. Plan your study sessions according to your strengths - maybe you’re more productive in the early morning, or perhaps late at night. Maybe you like to chop it up into bits throughout the day. Find your pattern and stick to it. ✏️Learn by Doing: Use techniques like practice questions, group study, discussions, and teaching others to deepen your understanding of the material. Practice answering multiple-choice and select-all-that-apply questions (more on this later!!). ✏️Master Through Repetition: This is especially true in courses like pathophysiology and pharmacology. Regularly review what you’ve learned to lock it in. Even if you set aside just 10 minutes a day, revisiting the material helps you recall info more easily. Thank you! @ Rachael #studytips #nursingschool #studentnurselife

so hard during the year!
@sofiigyan
@sofiigyan Месяц назад
@@dontworry102 Try practicing one of these at time! Set a realistic goal to try one of these out, even if it’s just once or twice every few weeks, and see how it starts to make a difference!
@sofiigyan
@sofiigyan Месяц назад
Easier said than done, but let’s prioritize these goals: ✅ Celebrate your achievements: we learn a ton of info in a very short amount of time in nursing school. Give yourself a pat on the back every now and then to celebrate how far you’ve come. ✅Seek help: don’t wait until the day before the test to start asking your questions! giving yourself more time to learn and understand a topic will save you a great deal of time by avoiding a stressful situation. ✅ Enjoy fun & relaxation: we cannot spend 24 hours of the day locked up in a room studying. Get outside, read a book, have lunch with friends, listen to music, have a solo dance party.

@sofiigyan Месяц назад
Let’s stop doing this in nursing school this year: ❎Gatekeeping Resources: we’re all in this together! so, throw that video in the group chat, and share your notes with your lecture buddy. ❎Studying During Breaks: free time is limited in nursing school. but a break is a break…so take it! ❎Being Afraid To Ask Clarifying Questions: there are probably 5 other people wondering the same thing. go ahead and ask your question to clear up any confusion! ❎Getting Less Than 5hrs of Sleep: poor sleep on the regular can mess with your mood, focus, and memory. better sleep = better performance. ❎Pushing Ourselves Past Our Limit (without recovering): give yourself time to rejuvenate after really hard days/weeks. Recenter yourself before moving onto the next thing. #nursingstudent #nursingschool #selfcare #health #foryou
