Everyone is saying this rock 🪨 was uniquely formed and geologist say no glaciers were in the area when it was formed. Rocks don't show roundness and errosion that is just wind and rainfall. The mountain near it are full of round boulders. These boulders were formed in 3 ways. Glaciers rolling them. Oceans or Rivers rolling them. Since there is a mountain of round boulders it appears glaciers had to be involved.
The cupola in the caboose with the ladders built in was Where the brakeman or conductor sat to watch the train cars to make sure there were no hot or smoking wheel axle journals (hot boxes).
Totally agree. That place has changed so much from when I grew up in Landers. The graffiti , the fires, the trash left behind. No respect for nature. I'm betting "little mike " has been destroyed
Hunfres Snakes in Boulders Ho.e of the deadly Scopions, black widows, b recluse This is their habitat ,Lizards mite help but it'd be Overwhelmed..A shame..
I think historically it was just expensive to maintain. We get a lot of wind here and have a good bit of sand as well so having to clean it often can raise expenses.
