When you have a mouthful of mouthwash, you don't swallow it. After you spit, only a very small amount remains in your mouth, which is diluted by saliva. The residual amount left in the mouth is not dangerous at all, but swallowing the entire mouthful is a different story.
@hjhanayosh
@hjhanayosh 9 месяцев назад
Hi Dr, may I know what wire do you use for this bend?
@cephtacticsdental
@cephtacticsdental 2 месяца назад
Hi @hjhanayosh, thank you for the message. For extrusion or intrusion bends in orthodontic treatment, stainless steel or titanium molybdenum alloy (TMA) wires can be utilized. The selection of wire shape and size is contingent upon the specific stage of treatment. Typically, these bends are executed during the finishing stage to avert the need for bracket repositioning, which might otherwise result in the undesirable round-tripping of wires. I hope this helps and if you would like more information please contact our team at info@cephtactics.com

@cephtacticsdental
@cephtacticsdental 2 месяца назад
Certainly! Yes, we can use extrusion/intrusion bends for two adjacent teeth. The size and placement of these bends depend on the patient's needs and treatment plan, but precision is a must to achieve the desired outcomes and avoid unwanted movement of the respective teeth.

Really? If so then that’s awesome! I have a third molar growing in the bottom left corner of my jaw and it’s partially erupted and it’s not very impacted. I just got my braces taken off after 8 years and when I asked my dentist about the tooth, he says I should get it removed before I turn 30 (I just turned 21 so I have some time). The tooth is growing in more, I can feel it. I can also feel the discomfort and pain of biting down on the the gum/tooth (maybe it’s also my molars on my upper jaw coming into contact causing all that traction?) but I hope this is possible to have done.

I'm 23 years old and I just lost my milk canine. The permanent one was at the back and now there's this gap. Shall I wait for the tooth to come at the front in it's original place or shall I get started with my orthodontic treatment?
@cephtacticsdental
@cephtacticsdental Год назад
Absolutely, you're correct. Gaps after tooth loss are pretty common, and orthodontic treatment can indeed be pursued at any age. Many countries offer orthodontic interventions even for young children, starting around age 5. It's always a good idea to consult with a local orthodontist for a proper assessment and consultation. They can provide personalized advice based on your situation and guide you towards the appropriate course of action to achieve your desired results. I hope this helps you.

What happens if we didnt cut the main wire?
@cephtacticsdental
@cephtacticsdental Год назад
Well, the main wire (base wire) was trimmed specifically for the partial wire technique. This allows the tooth to be tractioned without any hindrance, particularly since the incisal edge of the canine tends to occlude with the wire, impeding further movement into alignment. Trimming the wire allows for smooth traction. If you are uncertain about trimming the wire, you can perform a step up/down or step out (depending on the patient's comfort) on the base wire. I hope this answers your question.

thank you so much Dr. kindly, is it nessesory to ligate the tooth ( with a torque spring) with ligature wire or it is enough with ligature elastic ? 🌹🌹
@cephtacticsdental
@cephtacticsdental Год назад
Hi, you can use elastic ligatures, but ideally metal ligature is much better. As the torquing spring is going to use the wire as anchorage, wire can have a bit of play and the spring might not be able to express the force completely. Hence, full ligation of the the wire with metal ligature is better. I hope you find this helpful.

@rajjabbal
@rajjabbal Год назад
these are more challenging - completely horizontally impacted teeth need high amounts of anchorage, should be done using TADs and should be monitored carefully so as not to open the bite - the issue is always that you do not always have a tooth behind it for support of the wire, so 2 x TADs are better, one in the front, and one in the back

Hi Rashid! If you are a patient, it's important to inform your orthodontist so they can provide appropriate advice. If you are a practitioner, it is necessary to either tighten or replace the metal ligature to prevent potential gaps from forming, especially if there is any active mechanism like elastics or powerchain connected to it. What is the difference of overtie and undertie even their functions are same
@cephtacticsdental
@cephtacticsdental Год назад
An overtie is when a long ligature tie is placed over the archwire while an undertie is when the ligature tie is placed under the archwire to prevent a tooth from moving or create space. Overties are commonly preferred for compromised oral hygiene, but cannot be tightened as well as underties and needs to be removed every time the archwire is changed. Underties can keep spaces closed securely and are preferred when changing wires, as they don't need to be replaced each time, but oral hygiene should be monitored. You just need to check if the undertied wire is loose, and if so, tighten it. The choice of technique depends on the specific treatment goals and the individual needs of each patient. We hope this helps.
