One of the great Wolverine Defenses. Harbaugh to Kattus was awesome as well. Mike Hammerstein was a BEAST. Young freshman Messner made his presence felt early.
What a nostalgic ride this was and the video well done. Unfortunate that it couldnt have been done after the Rose Bowl, but this was really fun to watch. Thanks for uploading.
The way Michigan hit that Penn State dude showed Nebraska that they didn't want to see Michigan's defense that year. Nebraska faced horrible Big 12 defenses, including Baylor and Colorado teams Michigan destroyed and Nebraska struggled with.
@3:50 Little did he know he'd have several more. I'm surprised guys like Bo and Woody didn't have heart attacks on the field all the time given how worked up they'd get.
Great team. But Jaime Morris saying this is now. This is the 80’s. So funny. I was on law school so a bit distracted. I remember studying and watching that Iowa game. That feels like 4 lifetimes ago.
I’m not kidding when I say I watched this VHS from the age of 4 more than any movie until probably age 10. Always made me kinda like Woody even as a diehard Michigan fan.
"The greatest leadership I've ever had" Bo talking about Harbaugh. I remember watching the games a few days after they were played while stationed in Honduras in 1985,
The 1985 team was ranked #2 in the polls and has an unclaimed national championship. Michigan was the wins leader for all schools in the 70s. Bo's influence extends even to this day in the Harbaughs. Only a fool would deny his legacy.
It was 34-13 but ❤️ my 〽️ICHIGAN WOLVERINES!! Born in Michigan, but living in DFW area now...thx for making it easier to live here after TCU. LET'S G🔵 BLUE!!! 🏉
Thank you Ethan. I miss those times, but my gosh, here we are NATIONAL CHAMPIONS!! CONGRATULATIONS TO COACH HARBAUGH, SHRONE, MINTER, JAY, AND ALL THE REST OF THE COACHES, STAFF, PLAYERS, FAMILIES, ALUMNI AND FANS.
Alabama fan here and I absolutely loved watching this and I have nothing but respect for Coach Bo in my opinion his name should be mentioned along side of Bear and Woody if the Big10 wasn’t screwing with the football teams he probably would have had at least two National championships and a few plays went his way he would have had more than that. I’m looking forward to the Alabama vs Michigan game in the Rose Bowl this year.
While I still think it's the best rivalry in sports, I think the "respect" for the rivalry has, in my opinion, exited. While "hating" the rival used to be said a bit "tongue in cheek", it's now real. I'm a Buckeye who used to go to some games in Ann Arbor. I would never go anymore. The behaviors have become coarse, vulgar, and physically threatening. I'm sure some Wolverines feel the same about Columbus. I think the respect ended that night in 2006 when I saw most of Ohio Stadium in tears during the tribute to Bo, who died the day before.
I had the wonderful opportunity to meet Bo. Well, sort of. I was a student in Ann Arbor and after the 1985 OSU game I was on the field waving my flag. Unknowingly Bo was behind me being interviewed on TV. I turned to meet up with my friends back up in the stands and at the same time Bo finished up the interview and began running toward the locker room. We ended up face to face 10' apart. Both stopped, kinda shocked and then I thrust my fist and shouted "Way to go Bo!!", he replied, "Get the hell out of my way!!!" And darted right past me!! A moment I will never forget. LOL!!
