To marchers, to citizens out there please give well-wishers to Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother of her 101 years of service. I can't believe how quickly she managed to live until the age of 101. It was so shocking to find out on 30 March 2002, 7 weeks after her daughter died ...... she died ...... Rest In Peace Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother Born: 04 August 1900 Died: 30 March 2002 (aged 101)
My God Queen Elizabeth II was lucky to have her mother for 76 years of her life. Most people these days lose there mother at 20-40's some even loosing there mother's while there in college.
Thanks. How haunting were the bagpipes. How extraordinarily difficult for Charles and William an Harry. It makes more sense now to me why Harry would want to escape such public exposure Bless them all.
Ya know she was King George's strength when he needed it most. He was plunged into the job when his brother abdicated. It's been said Hitler was actually afraid of her. Too bad he never got to bump heads with her. She would of chewed him up & spit him out!
The Queen Mother was very brave during the Second World War. I can quote her even today when it suggested that then Princesses Elizabeth & Margaret be sent to the safety of Canada. “The Princesses won’t leave without me, I won’t leave without the King, the King won’t leave.”
This is so full of symbolism. Take ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-2masJyFWwVw.html for example: the lonely piper - presumably the personal piper of Queen Mum - plays "Abide with me" as a final farewell. The hearse drives by the Guards Memorial, thereby giving a final salute to those who have guarded her for more than 70 years and who died in various wars. Then the fly by of the Royal Air Force, by the very WW2 planes that kept Britain in the war and foiled any attemp of an invasion, all the while the Queen Mother stayed in Buckingham Palace during the war. Then past Clarence House wher she lived for 50 years and then past Buckingham Palce where she lived during Gerorge VI reign.
What a dignified commentator during this event - he speaks when he has to, everything he says is spot on and helps the viewer to understand what is going on. On German TV instead (public or private) you yould have someone blurting nonsense the whole time, even when the viewer would prefer to just watch for a minute and listen to the sound of the occasion. The whole sequence when the soldiers took over the coffin and carried it into the Abbey would have been filled with a shrieking voice stating the obvious or questioning a rather unknowledged "expert".
She was sweet, but I do wish they had stuck with those of royal blood. Basically, Elizabeth II is a half-breed; while her cousin Alexandra is a true royal. She also would have made a great queen.
Loosing ones mother is never a nice thing especially if you’ve been with her your entire life .In manny ways the queen mother is one of the luckiest parents in the world she was able to see her children and her grandchildren grow into adult hood and become a great grand mother as well some of us are lucky enough to have only known one grandparent in our lives. We shall never see her like again.
