Did Johnny have a comic book collection? You know, some of those comic books were. extremely valuable. It was the Overstreet guide in New York City. that started around the same times the Ramones got started That increased the values of comics from 10 cents on the cover to the thousands and thousands we know today. Considering how tight Johnny was for them to do a song about Spiderman, I sure hope he sold a Spiderman or bought a Spiderman comic after that song. Spider man #1 is now worth $350K. in 2024
thanx, this was awesome. so happy they got to experience and enjoy that deserved status somewhere, good job documenting it! too bad Dee Dee didn't make it on stage for 53rd & 3rd!
Johnny said you could find a drummer, or bass player to play in the Ramones, but he forgot to say that a guitar player too. Joey was the only one impossible to replicate. His voice is a trademark.
Thanks for keeping Johnny's memory alive. First time we hung out we went to a sports book store in Springfield, Virginia in the US. I had left the lights on my parents 1970 Ford station wagon and had to get a jump start from the nearby gas station. I thought he'd never talk to me again. Later that night after their show at the Bayou in Washington, DC he was making jokes about the incident backstage. The guy had met thousands at that point but I got Christmas cards from him several years. He was truly a wonderful guy. I'd consider myself lucky to have known him even if we wasn't in an awesome band.
Linda Danielle and Joey Ramone never dated, Joey was infatuated with Linda but there was never a physical/romantic relationship between the two. She never was interested in Joey in that way.

I just finished 'I slept with Joey Ramone' and Veras Book but I think I'll have to read your great book once again. I really love to dive into the Ramones-Universe and this book is a total blast.
I recently found my poster for The Ramones at the World NYC New Years Eve with a breakfast performance by The Beastie Boys! I was 21 visiting from SF and thought maybe I dreamed that gig! I had met Joey while an intern at The Quake radio in SF and Joey Vacuumed on air for us and I knocked onghe stage door in NY and Joey himself answered and remembered me and ushered me in! The Ramones were my favorite band to see live cos I always fellt so happy after like I was walking on air! Happy Family was my favlive song!
