As a long-time roleplayer and gamer, I've transitioned into solo gaming with RPGs and skirmish games. ADHD means I might mix up rules occasionally, and I'm known to veer off on tangents - it's all part of my unique gaming journey!
Why record and share these sessions? It started to avoid talking to myself, and then I thought, why not share? Hopefully, you'll find enjoyment here.
Videos will have light editing for a 'rustic' production quality - less time editing, more time playing! The intro was created with AI tools and the music from freesound.org/people/Bertsz/sounds/524309/. It wasn't for higher production value but for some AI-powered fun. Enjoy!
p66 seems to say you can add ammo dice up to the ROF or ammo remaining -1, rather than ROF -1 so you may be denying our heroes an ammo dice. Also on the same page, you can make just one attack for multiple NPCs in the same hex and just add +1 for every similarly armed shooter - may save some rolling and tracking. I'm on tenterhooks for the next episode.
I caught this the next episode thank you so much 😁 great minds. The one roll thing I didn’t catch. That is going to save a lot of time in episodes to come. 👍
I don't think Soviet troops wear body armor, so killing the one hit in the torso was correct. The book says you can make one roll for blast damage and apply it to everyone in the hex, but I roll for each person like you did.. 100% the occupants of the BTR need to make a CUF roll since they're wearing the remaining bits of the passenger and driver. Jane lives! What a nail biter. I'm honestly not sure the remaining Soviets would chase, as they're down a truck, some infantry, and the BTR is down crew and filled with gore. If they have a radio maybe they report what happened though. Great job as always.
Very nice adventure. The last scenes were quite cinematic, I could picture the wholw thing in my mind. I'm preparing for a solo Vaesen as well, you run it nicely here.
Fair enough. But. When you play a computer game you are still playing in someone else’s creative construction. You are still working within their vision and telling their story. With solo ttrpg you are within your own creative story expressing your own experiences. Or that’s the way I see it. But thank you for your feedback.
That was amazing - you pulled out that win by the skin of your teeth! Well done. Thanks for playing Dungeon Hero! You made my day by making this video!
When you roll a D6 with value 5, why do you state that the first 3 things kick off? I am a bit confused about this, planning to start a solo Pirate Borg campaign myself.
@@HollowPondsSoloSagas That makes so much sense, thanks for the fast reply! Just wrapped up your first chapter and made my own pirate. I’m feeling inspired and can’t wait to check out the rest!
Call of Cthulhu solo is actually how I found this channel. I’m curious, though. Have you tried using any of the prewritten adventures with the Solo Investigators Handbook (eg Masks of Nyarlathotep)? I’m curious how the Solo Investigators Handbook would handle those.
Staff is all like "I knew I shouldn't have let a bird drive!" after they got stuck. 🤣 Jane is best character confirmed. Killed more people than cholera, but feels guilty for shooting an officer that pulled a gun on them first.
😁 so my thinking was she basically a couple of weeks ago was a private following orders it may have played a bit on her mind wellll I thought tubelike spice it up a little before she starts cracking off shots again lol
Another excellent, and somewhat deadly, instalment. If you keep this up you’ll start to loose members of the original crew. But, as it’s Alien, I guess that no one is safe. As always, I’m looking forward to your next episode.
Another excellent video. You can’t go wrong with Call of Cthulhu. Egyptology and Cthulhu work so well together although your description of the paint brings to mind MR James’ story The Mezzotint. I’m keen to see where this one goes.
Always love your solo plays and Vaesen has made it to the top of favourite RPGs. When it comes to pre-mystery outfitting you have the option of spending "Capital"; any thoughts on this? I'm struggling to get my head around it.
It felt a little weird and disjointed. It’s hard to know what to buy when you have no idea what your going into. I think next time I’ll save the rolls and spend them later.
