I'm sorry about your fly-away and crash of the Fimi Mini. I'm glad you recovered it, and there wasn't much damage. And I hope you can sort out the issues with the drone. And I preferred the video from the Mini 2. Thanks for sharing.
Check the propeller screws in pre-flight checks. The extreme vibration may be an imbalance in the propeller tightening around the quad. I have a blob of epoxy resin on the side of the screw head to keep the prop screws where I want.
I had good luck with my X8 Mini while it worked but it stopped connecting to my phone and it won't work with my new phone or my daughter's phone. Before that started it was a good drone that has a great camera but I can't even use mine anymore. There's simply too many problems with this drone to recommend it. I'm glad you got yours for free. Absolutely beautiful footage! I'd love to be in an area so wide open. Unfortunately, I'm in a congested city with few areas to fly. So my Mavic Air 2s is still fairly new.
Sticking with the DJI... Seemed the colors were more natural thus that will eliminate time wasted in post. I also like the fact I can trust in DJI drones to do what is expected. Hope you enjoy the Avata 2 - I'm on my 64 flight since it's release on April 11th. Fun drone to fly. Don't eat too many beignets (what am I saying; you can never eat too many). Like #13
We're both drones in auto mode? Things you don't want to see together, FlyAway in Canyon. Glad you're able to recover the drone. I prefer the mini 2 footage👍👍
I received My Fimi X8 Mini V2 Orange today. It flies ok, but with the Fimi Navi Mini Android app there are very frequent video freezes, like almost every 5 seconds. My Android phone is not that bad, I'm able to use DJI Fly App very smoothly. I don't understand why there is this video freezing issue with Fimi Navi Mini Android App.
I personally love the Mini 2. I’ve had it over a year now and it’s never given me any problems at all. Even in strong winds. I recently videoed the installation of 100’ high tension power poles in 25mph + winds and it was a little shaky with wind warnings but the footage came out perfect. Thanks for sharing your experience with the Fimi x8. 🦅🇺🇸
Hi Tania, nice video, thanks for sharing. Did you ever determine what went wrong with the Fimi Mini? IMO, looking at the wind blown brush the wind at elevation may have had gusts much over 29mph. I liked both videos. The Mini 2 video looked like it had HDR set. I actually preferred the video from the Fimi.
One thing I'm learning Watching videos like this is; if I purchased a backup drone don't get a mini! And if I do; if it's windy JUST DON'T BOTHER FLYING 😂. Granted sure; any drone can fly away and crash etc etc. But it's a mini lol! I kinda should expect this. Seriously I am thinking about getting a mini for certain trips that won't allow big drones like my Autel Evo Lite Plus. I do need a back up.
Hi Tania, nice first flight with your Fimi Mini, thanks for sharing. Fimi drones can be a hit or miss. Glad you have one of the good ones. The Fimi Mini's have a lot of zip compared to other <249g drones. If you like that Fimi Mini model, you would love the Fimi X8 Mini V2 version.
Congratulations on your new Avata 2 Tania. The motion controller 3 is so easy to use but now you need to purchase the FPV RC 3 so you can eventually advance to Manual flight.
Thank you! It is a truly immersive experience, like a dream of flying come to life. I'm still fumbling with controls, but I'll improve with experience. This is an evolution in drone flying. 'my 2 cents'.

Wow Tania you helped me relive another great weekend, and by the way I am glad you are happy with the drone. I was the original winner and gave it to Lonny. He asked if I minded if he gifted to someone else. He could not have picked a better person. I hope you enjoy it.
I grown quite fond of the Fimi drone. It is now part of my fleet :). Loved every minute of the meetup and hope we will meet again next year (if not at another meetup).
