Mafia is such a pretty game, Mafia definitive addition completely ruined the art deco feel of the original. Especially with the awful bright color choices for some of the vehicles. I think I'd prefer Mafia 2002 redone with absolutely no additions, and just more vehicles in the game like 1910s and 1920s. Would be so cool to drive around in a early 1920s limousine (Hudson or something), or a Packard touring from 1913. But you know, marketed so that it's not a real company.
This game was such a vibe. Driving these old-unique to gaming cars (still), the music, the city. Think I have 300 hrs in the game just driving around in free ride as a kid, it just amazed my imagination back then.
Star Trek spaceship: flowing curves with glowing nacelles jutting out the back. Star Wars spaceship: Industrial themed greeble spam. Warhammer 40k spaceship: A literal fucking cathedral with guns strapped to it.
Looking back at this and Haegemonia, Empire at War... god damn I wish the space RTS genre was still so great. I guess we wait for Homeworld 3, there are also some indie titles

I can remember the sounds being a lot better than this the last time i played which was years ago, i finished this game just one of those typical Goodfella type games, as character i wasn't real impressed no wonder he gets shot at the end of the game because he is dog like most in the Mafia when things don't go their way they rat out and become dogs in protection then get shot collecting the Sunday paper off the lawn or putting your rubbish bin out and if you're a flashy gang member put one in your ear while you get a haircut because you didn't pay the BARBER!! Same thing in Australia basically it's where you shoot Lebos these days, Gym's or Hairdressers in opium land drug gang wars in Greenacre! Two things Lebos love is, watching themselves in mirrors lifting! and doing each other's hair in salons something I feel they miss the essence of in mafia wars presented in games or movies. What i was mainly interested looking at this old footage was engine sounds because I'm currently developing a car game & i was look for a range of engine sounds that were realistic, but my memory misleads me because i thought they sounded better than this or is it just the poor-quality sound of the clip. Guess I'll just use a studio and create my own set for my development purposes.

My favorite car? Black metal 4WD. You can destroy everybody, they can't do anything to you :-) A little tank - it's bulletproof and still fast like a car. Best car game ever. Mafia 1 > Definitive Edition.
