Wow, thanks for actual footage- I’ve been looking everywhere for that “terrible CGI Rook” and finally get to see it. I really don’t get how big box office movies in 2024 seem to be regressing with CGI continuously since about 1993. Artists still can’t seem to take on that “humans don’t move eyes/limbs/necks/faces like rubber” concept… and there are so many even amateur deepfakes that are 100x more realistic than this!

Lots of haters here... Romulus was more true to the feeling and atmosphere of the first two than any others since. And to those whining about Rook's CGI... if you aren't smart enough to realize they made him intentionally touch the uncanny valley to make you feel unsettled, you have no business telling anyone your literary analysis. It is unsettling for exactly that reason. He looked computer generated because he was. I thought it was brilliant especially in deliberate contrast to prosthetics and costumes for the rest of the film cast. Put your uneducated opinions away if you're too round brained to understand it.
why would there even be wreckage from the Nostromo ? ...it's main reactor went critical due to Ripley removing the cooling rods and the whole ship was VAPORIZED in the nuclear explosion. the only reason there's suddenly wreckage 45 years later (nearly 45 years after Alien came out in 1979 i mean) the only reason why there's wreckage is because in 2024 we are creatively bankrupt and desperately racking over old fires in the hopes of finding embers to wave under our noses and go "hey look Alien..member that..member Alien..the Alien..look it's back it's the Alien but it's back again..." I'll admit I was looking forward to Romulus but it's nonsense and honestly seems like a streaming movie that got a cinema release. that "hybrid" thing at the end clearly wasn't finished cgi because people in the cinema were laughing at it when it smirked at the camera.

Is this movie worth watching? Giving the track record of all the attempts of a remake I'm iffy about it and then there are the trailers I've seen. The new Erics look turned me away from wanting to watch it especially with the makeup they have given him which neither look as good as the original so I wasn't sure if I should watch it at all

Ofc, I haven't read many DC or Marvel comics like many other fans, so I'm not sure if I get to have a say in this

All valid points, but Ash never looked like an effect; he passed for human right up until the moment his true identity was revealed, so it doesn`t make sense to have Rook look so fake, especially as he must be at least as advanced as Ash, if not more so, since this is 20 yrs later.
That's a stretch. Weyland-Yutani was extremely secretive about their pursuit of the xenomorph, to the point that they didn't disclose Ash as an android.
I could rescue this movie with one small adjustment : After Ray is sucked dry, her maternal instincts kick in, and she re-appears 5 minutes later to rescue her humanoid offspring with the line "get away from him you BITCH". Then it is Ray who tries to escape with her tall baby and nuke the ship from orbit with Rain on it, thus reversing the hero vs. villain roles -- and we get to experience the horror of being an alien's alien, so to speak, and a true authentic and horrific twist at the end. After all, the alien is no more merciful than we are. What makes a monster a monster?
this scene almost made me sad but when she turned off the gravity and started shooting at the xeno's let me tell you my heart was racing with excitement seeing the rifle locking on and firing powerful bursts i felt like deadpool wanting the golden desert eagle pistols lol
