Let's just take a moment to appreciate the utter unmatched brilliance of Michael Carrick..this video is about scholes but carrick simply performed a role to perfection better than anyone, facilitating scholes ability to play the direct balls, his movement and positioning in this game, unreal, it was a crime that Carrick was not used in the England set up he would have enabled scholes and lampard to do what they did for their clubs in an england shirt.. Most underrated English midfielder in history. Period.
Observen la expresion corporal cuando tiene la pelota, aiempre cabeza arriba, pecho afuera, pelota pegada al pie, una postura que denota seguridad, elegancia pero sobre todo talante ofensivo
@@dannyryan3103 scholes was only talked about in his retirement. it was giggs, then beckham, then ronaldo, rooney... they stole the limelight. even roy keane made the headlines. scholes was barely heard about in the media. yet ferguson built teams, not one but several generations around him.
@@dannyryan3103 that's the point i was making. he played nearly every game, and was ferguson's fulcrum in every generational team he put out yet everyone else around him were the celebrities. it's only in his retirement, that he was given some recognition courtesy alex ferguson, and some famous footballers like xavi, zidane, who shared their views about him. as for "and Rooney and Ronaldo would've scored without him in the team anyway " they wouldn't have been lifting trophies that's for certain.👍
2:14 to 2:38 cutting City wide open. Scholes and Carrick were such intelligent players. Knew how to cover angles, when to apply back spin on the aerial passes, when to press high up💯
That pass at 3:32 looks so simple but shows you how ahead of the game Scholes was. If he plays it on the ground, two different Spurs players could intercept it. Instead he just casually lobs it over the one Spurs player and into Ferdinand’s path.
