What a golden era of Rallying any where in the British Isles and Through the continent there were such greatly Contested Rallys and Car's were simply Brilliant 🎉BHP made the best TV programmes in the World
Tommi Makinen said that year's event is all about experience and the upcoming will be easier was probably the sickest prediction ever! Cause not only that he won the next year's rally, but also his first championship!
Talbot Sunbeam Ti, Chevette HSR, Audi 80, mk2 Escort RS2000, Opel Ascona, Celica GT, some real classics there worth thousands of pounds today but were ten a penny in those days! 😂
Tony Pond is one of the best drivers of that era without question. To be able to throw around those big heavy cars and achieve the times he did is nothing short of spectacular. He rarely crashed too. He was also a great character. R.I.P. Tony. You are missed by many. 🙏
With many a tear flowing, I remember my Dad, Geoff Ross, one of the greatest Rally Drivers, and my Hero, whom passed recently, from Cancer. I just know he's still tearing up those corners going flat stick and loving every second. Miss you Dad and Love You Always.

Thank you MotorsportmemoriesAustralia for posting this classic video of Australian rally memorabilia. Although Channel Nine Sport excelled themselves with their video of this rally (boy but I wish they had had access to 4K digital video cameras back in 1991), I still wonder if it's possible to get a copy of this vid where the commentary doesn't often go up to "the threshold of pain". :-D Regardless of that, bless you Darrell, wherever it is that you are now.
