This particular firmware isn't (very outdated) but you can grab the FlashGBX software from the Joey page in my store and its fully compatible with Macs
You could use a patch already coded for your rom (there's a bunch of them in our discord), or you can pay someone to make the patch for you if its beyond your skill level
Hi, I'm struggling with the last step (finding the save routine) in Link's awakening DX. I put a watchpoint on A000 but it doesn't trigger the save, and when I put the watchpoint on A000-B000 it triggers but I can't really tell if I'm in the actual save routine or not : what the asm should look like ?
You'll want to follow the code back to the RET, from there you'll see the original call to the save routine and you can hook that. Post what you're seeing in our discord and we'll take a look
@@bennvennelectronics I'm confused mainly cause I've never plugged something in my phone that has a file. I've only plugged a phone into a computer to get files of the phone. Never plugged a device into my phone. So if I fo to my files and storage on my android phone I'll see an icon for the joey jr?
Hi, mine is supposed to arrive in the mail today! Is the source for menu still available. The first thing I see that I’d hope to change is abstracting away the saved and bitmaps directories do that they aren’t visible folders on the Lynx. Those are a sharp edge to my fragile emotions :D
The lynx side source is available, the cart firmware source isn't. If you don't want screenshots or a save folder, don't update to the latest firmware and you won't have those features
@@bennvennelectronics I think I have already upgraded since a card was waiting set up already. Presuming the file browser part has to run on the Lynx that's ok. I'm not talking about looking for the hidden flag in FAT32, but to maybe ignore the strings for those folder names or what have you.
This looks like the easiest flasher to use. It doesn't require any fancy software, and it will be perfect for testing my GB Studio game on real hardware.
I think we were just chatting in the discord but for anyone else with the same question, just drag and drop the save file and it'll transfer to your cart
Save support is for newer games that allow in game saves, like ONDUTY for example. Whenever you load that game on the Elcheapo, it'll automatically load up that save file for you and you can continue on.
The PAK file isn't showing up for me when I plug in the controller. I checked the mode.txt file, and PAK was already put in there. Even after manually adding a second 'PAK' into the file, it still won't read my controller pak
Turns out both the game *and* the controller need to be plugged in at the same time in order for the pak data to be read. (it also didn't help that I was looking for .pak files)
@@IceLordCryo Don't insert both a cart and controller at once. Only the controller with the game pak. PAK is all you'll need in mode and it'll show you the pak file. Please visit our discord for support, or send me an email and we'll find out what's up
The WE pad you can connect to 5v, you can't leave it disconnected. The upper Address line must be connected if using more ROM than the cart originally supported. If you're not using more, that too can be connected to GND, but don't leave it disconnected.
Sorry, are you telling that this kit and screen can achieve a perfect scaling showing the whole image? If this is the case, please tell me how to contact you and where to do my pre-order. I have a chinese screen, it's really good if you have a broken one, but I'm still playing with the original screen because I don't like the non integer scaling. In some slow paced games with grid backgrounds like Batman Returns, I find it very annoying to see columns of pixels that are thicker than others. And there are other problems too, my chinese screen is not properly sync, constant tearing, a horizontal line scrolls from bottom to top while playing. I'm 100% sure this tearing is not a defect of the games, it is produced by my kit. My non-modded Game Gear is perfect. Thank you for keeping the Game Gear alive!
It is a simple USB-C cable. It is not included as we expect most people to have at least one at home already. We have them in store for $1.50 if you need spares
Unbound needs 128kbytes of Flash Save RAM on the cart. There are no bootleg carts with this type of memory. If the Unbound devs decide to remove all the unnecessary intro's, there may be enough room to patch the rom. Right now, there is no room for a patch.
I just bought myself a new Joebags JR. after I ended up accidentally nuking my Joebags V3- probably the best thing that could have happened. It blew me away with how easy it was to use. Now if one of these guys would just come back in stock...
seems it needs more work for the linux handling if you wanna update the romlist or the save files on cartridges as it did not work with the scripts from bennvenns shop... found another github users script that worked but generally running random scripts you not 100% sure are safe is dangerous
Nice, im also actually in Japan for 2 more weeks .. and i now will grab some pokemon Editions .. i got all GB/GBC Versions so far for my Collection .. but now i will grab some more to get some spare parts for the convertion to putting the german roms on it .. they are cheap here .. between 550 and 880 yen per Card.
Will this amp work when you take the audio signal after the volumen wheel and before it goes to the GBC amp? Then you should have a cleaner signal like the cleanamp pro it does.
This is AMAZING, just discovered this today and ordered one immediately!! Now I have way more incentive to actually play my old Pokemon games knowing I can actually back up my 'mons and send them to newer games!! 💙
Is there any way this would work on a gba cart because I swear the ips battery patch is overwriting something because when I put it on the game saves fine on the cart bit it breaks the dang game
I came here because, after playing a bootleg cart I purchased from AliExpress on my Original SNES last night, my console stopped working altogether. It was getting power, but would not display ANYTHING on the screen afterwards. I even swapped to an original SNES game cart, and still the same problem. Is it possible to damage the wall wart (Power supply) but not the console itself? I left it unhooked over night and tried playing an original SNES title tonight and it worked fine. (Thank God, cause Id have traveled to ali baba land and went Rambo on em) So I'm wondering, is it possible the repro/bootleg game could have done SOMETHING to the power supply? Btw, The game in question is a ROM hack put on a cart. (Super Mario World: Return to Dinosaur land) Any info would be GREATLY appreciated!!!
Sounds like your 5v reg in the SNES could have overheated. Possibly a short in the bootleg. When the CPU fails, it doesn't usually come back alive the next day but a reg that has shut down thermally will
