Deep, deep Tom rabbit hole if you decide to take the journey either publicly or privately. For me it's been an eye opening journey for the last 5 years following his, Nova's and my own growth.
Tom is amazing and he is for unity but people hate him for it. Not me, I think he is Amazing and Him and Nova his girlfriend that films his videos for him are a perfect team.
Such a complicated situation. Even lawyers don't all the laws yet ignorance of the law is no excuse. Unfortunately when someone has what appears to be almost absolute power human nature means a good percentage of those people will abuse their power in some way. A basic education of the dos and don'ts concerning police interactions could save a lot of headache and heartaches. Included should be a discussion of your rights. Unfortunately when we are young and dumb bad outcomes can result from minor events.
Good points. I was addressing the fact that some young people don't understand what it's like to be a police officer. But, educate them on their rights too.
@@JonTheCarpenter Gotcha. I wouldn't wanna be a cop for any amount of money. Each stop could be your last. Congratulations on your son's movie-gonna have to check it out.
Police work is generally a job of last resort for losers. Most police are psychopaths, low IQ, little education and no job skills. Police unions fight to keep corrupt and incompetent cops on the force. Police work is the 18th most dangerous job in the US.
So, just throw away our 4th amendment rights to make the officer feel safer? How about officers respecting people's civil rights like they are sworn to do. I definitely agree with showing your hands so you don't get shot and being respectful but never say more than is necessary or answer any questions without a lawyer.
I have a better idea for you. How about they train law enforcement the constitution and rights of the people that they are supposedly "protecting and serving " instead of beating, tasers, and shooting people.
Good advice. However, a lot of the new patrol cops are combat veterans with undiagnosed PTSD, spring loaded to treat everything as a threat until neutralized by force. Usually that also includes weapons free rules of engagement.
Police officers get away with killing and gratuitously beating the crap out of people all the time. It's very common. There is very little accountability for police violence. Police tend to be high sensation-seeking individuals, unintelligent, severely under-educated (and/or just plain disrespectful of) laws and citizen rights. And departments tend to rally around cops who break laws and violate rights.
I think teaching kids about how to get pulled over is a great idea. However, not taught by only police. Needs to be taught by defense lawyers and such too. LEO has too many biases
Like what you had to say. I’ve worked around cops all my life, but they also need to learn the we the people Bill of rights too. I have seen some horrible things.
I’m having the same problems on X plus scammers or bots following me constantly. I report and block them and my numbers get all crazy. I’m doing this every day and it’s driving me nuts. I just want to have more followers that I’ve followed too.
@@JonTheCarpenter I see. That should help, you're right. Our garden is a little less than a quarter acre. I don't think we could manage individual fences. We did try those motion triggered ghosts you buy from the Halloween store and hang in a tree. 😁 It worked,... until they got used to it.
