I have one of these as well, but it doesn't turn on or do anything at all. It was working fine until the tape loading system seemed to have gotten jammed when being shut, so I gave it a gentle nudge to snap it into place. Now it's just a hunk of plastic/metal.

that's a pretty dramatic soundtrack for footwear. Lucchese makes a great product though for sure. My most comfortable pair.
