I see what Eddie does here he stays on the side when I tried this in judo I was always in the middle so they would stand and crush my chest and spine but instead I should be coming off to the side with my rubber guard
I love BJJ and Judo, which is why I train in both and feel they compliment each other. What I’ve grown to despise over the years however is a lot of BJJ guys I train with talk so much trash on Judo and the Judo guys I know are all so respectful. I’ve never understood this hostility, it’s like their threatened by another grappling art. Which doesn’t make sense to me because I’ll be the first to say that BJJ groundwork is far superior. I love (sarcasm) how this is being portrayed as how BJJ is far more superior than Judo. Let’s get something straight, Eddie is a world class top level BJJ black belt. Eddie taps average BJJ black belts like this all the time, just like I’ve seen Marcelo or Keenan do. So because Eddie is tapping this Judo black belt just as fast as a BJJ black belt is supposed to mean what? That he lasts as long against Eddie as other average BJJ black belts? I guarantee this Judo black belt rolled with other black belts at 10th Planet, notice how the only video posted is the one against Eddie... things that make you go hmmm. Also the big difference here between this Judo black belt and the average BJJ black belt is the Judo black only spends 20-30% of each class training groundwork, the other 80-70% is training throws/sweeps! Which actually makes this Judoka’s performance even more impressive. Once again, Eddie is a world champion, put this Judoka against a guy off the street and he’ll maul them! In addition, he agreed to train in your world (the ground) Eddie, if you wanted to be fair, you’d go into his world and spar with only throws/sweeps for ten minutes. I suspect we’d see a different story being portrayed then. Seriously, critical thinking must have gone out the window if people can’t see the usefulness of each discipline. I mean we wouldn’t put Eddie into a boxing ring against a world class boxer where he gets knocked out and then say see, BJJ sucks. No, of course not.

Eddy would probably look horrible in strictly Judo, so what.. Also, saying “Average” BJJ Black belts 😑 They were training, Eddy dominated multiple times in the roll, so what, these type of things go down in the gym daily. Stop making excuses, if the Judo member keeps going to that gym he will get better. Stop comparing Judo to BJJ, Judo focuses on throws and sweeps, BJJ focuses on the ground, they are different. yeah dude has clearly gone there with the intention of learning no gi bjj tho. if yo uget the chance to train with eddie bravo why waste it on showing you can take down a pure ground grappler?
it's nice to see something I learned as a child stand the teat against bjj (even being inferiour on the floor). I was disappointed I never learned to break planks of wood but now we know that muay thai is legit and kung fu isn't. I'm glad I did judo and not karate or king fu.
This seemed more like a teaching video. All it showed me was something that is a given. Eddie is one of the few with dexterity like this. BJ Penn has great dexterity like eddie. This Dan didnt even try to do anything. He kept on his knees and laid in guard. And the music hit my epilepsy button.
Eddie is the top tier of BJJ, he should fight someone like Shohei Ono or Illias Illiadis and start from standing with no matt. They should have a fight. Or Joe Rogan vs Teddy Rinner?
