The Lewis and Harris Piping Society was formed in 1977, our main objective is “to promote in the interest of social welfare the encouragement of piping in all its aspects with particular emphasis in the fields of tuition, competition and recital”. For many years after its inception the Society has been able to organise regular recitals, bringing such experts as the late PM Angus Macdonald, PM Alasdair Gillies and Gordon Duncan to name but a few, to demonstrate their virtuoso skills. For the past few years that experience has been more or less confined to once a year when the Donald Macleod Memorial Competition is held in Stornoway. Allowing piping enthusiasts to gather to listen to the noble instrument played live by expert fingers.
Had the privilege of meeting Stuart at PHSD this year. What a cool guy! His music really is part if his personally, and shows so much in his playing. Hope shows like this get a million views. He really is something to hear in person should you ever have the opportunity!
Outstanding Instrument an great Playing, I very much enjoyed this performance,. Just 1 little thing, second Strathspey is not Bogan Lochan, it is the great tune "Atholl Cummers". Thank you for playing and uploading.
I have watched this man play live and listened to him on video links his pipes have great tone and his playing is never less than first class. You're entitled to your opinion, but can you do better consistently, under any conditions?

I love to hear these lower pitch pipes. I grew up playing in a lower pitched era and remember when pitch started to get very high in about the late 90s. A high A especially on a high pitched chanter can be pretty harsh sometimes.
