Its funny how people complain about all the problems Baltimore has & when you look at the rest of the country there are similar problems if not worse lol it has to be a trend to hate on Baltimore.
A trend? Explain why that “trend” has existed for 40+ yrs. I’m a Bmore native, and swill say with absolute confidence that this city sucks! Corrupt leadership, a failing public school system, high crime, consistent over taxing, rats, trash, garbage roads, etc. Tell me where it’s so much worse that’s not a third world country. The only reason to move here is for healthcare, tech industry, & government work because otherwise, you can’t afford to live here.
One time I went to Hyattsville to get pizza and I made it out safe but guys don’t do it. One time I went to Cherry Hill guys but I made it out okay. Haha this is dumb
Baltimore City recently passed an act to increase water and sewer that will greatly alter cost of living. So would you say currently Balt Co is cheaper cost of living overall than Balt City? Im currently in the city.
1) Be prepared to be taxed on everything. 2) Crime is skyrocketing. 3) Traffic is horrible, and no one uses turn signals. 4) Corrupt politicians. 5) Pay ground rent, yes that is still a thing, if you buy a house.
DC metro system is actually horrible😂. I'm a native I ride metro system everyday its younger than New York's but has more issues by far escalator outages, switch problems ,buses dont show up sometimes, constant crime issues, every time there's an accident(i can recall 4 major ones in my lifetime) due to negligence on Metro's behalf they raise prices
Hey Adam thanks for making this very helpful video, See if you can answer my que here: I'm planning to relocate to Randallstown, MD 21133 area from Rockford, Illinois ,, So my question is how good is this particular Area of Randallstown in terms of safety and living comunity ? pls do reply here, your response is being really helpful to me.
I lived in baltimore back in the 80's. It was bad back then. I've been in the Midwest majority of my life. I initially wanted to relocate to DC but it is way too expensive so im looking at Maryland. Yes Baltimore is on the list. I find beauty in the most ugliest things. I will continue to do my research, visit a few times and most of all pray before i make that move.
I see this video was made 2 months ago, recently on the news they had a report that said that Baltimore is the 2nd fastest city in the country with reducing it's gun violence. I think last year was the first in a while that Baltimore had less than 300 murders and this year is at a much lower pace. I just thought I should mention this. I wish I had the source, but it was within the last week on one of the local news channels
We went to the inner harbor yesterday. The last time I was there was a decade ago. The one thing I noticed is that how ridiculous everything cost I mean I felt like I was being robbed for a bare minimum everything
YEAH YEAH..This is my first time to your channel..I been living in B-More city for ..31..years....OOHH MY...WHAT AN ADJUSTMENT...I'M STILL AND WILL NEVER GET USE TO THE WAY THINGS ARE AND THE PEOPLE....RUDE. ENTITLED...ANGRY..I grew up in the inner city of Newark New Jersey ....VERY DIVERSE.....POLITICAL ENTITIES CATER TO DOWN TOWN...CORRUPTION CORRUPTION CORRUPTION...YES. Morris in every state....IT'S CRAZY....NO BODY CARES ABOUT ANYTHING...LATELY...People just run. Through red lights and stop on green lights...What's wrong with everyone.....UUGGHH...BEGGARS....PEOPLE BEGGING..THEN GET MAD AT YOU CAUSE YOU WONT GIVE THEM ANYTHING.....WHAT THE FUCK....SIGH SIGH..Don't get me started on the drug problem....ZOMBIES......Not just the illegal shit but the LEGAL SHIT TOO...THANK YOU FOR LETTING ME VENT..😅😅😅😅😅😅
I've been in Baltimore all of my life and your list is very homest and accurate. The people like myself and you who've been here know what places to stay away from and know how to be aware of our surroundings. This ised to be a fun, vibrant and exciting place to live that's changed over the years. I live in a decent area in northeast Baltimore where there's not a lot of crime ..but i'm not far from the bad areas. I would love to relocate to another city but I don't even know where to start. It's tougher when you have a stable (20 years) job that's based in MD. Unfortunately I would not suggest anyone to move to Baltimore City. There's a lot of change that needs to happen.
Columbia, Greenbelt, Cockeysville, College Park or Hyattsville near University of MD, Glen Burnie, Bethesda etc. There are others outside of Downtown Baltimore. Look online for the crime rate and property taxes tell you if it's a good place. High crime rates and low property taxes -bad area.
Love the video, Brother, and agree with everything! I grew up in Annapolis, and my family was there since it was a colony... My grandfather, Cary Lee Meredith started Farmers National Bank on Church Circle, and got robbed by the US Government when Meredith Lumber lost their dock downtown to 'Immanent Domain' as a site where they built the Halsey Field House.... When I was brought home from the Hospital it was to 123 Lafayette Ave. My Fathers family lived at 38 Franklin St. My father started "The Meredith Company" realtors, now a brokerage house at Cathedral West. We moved out to Twin Harbors... 215 Mill Harbor Dr. in Arnold! I used to go to Mills with my Dad at LEAST once a week... I had family living at 81 Market ST., 4 Taney Ave., and 1 Southgate! Bet you know that one! Also cousins at 219 Mill Harbor... Moms side had a shop called Stakely Kitchens in Glen Burnie in the seventies... Unfortunately, I do get back occasionally, but only for fixing planes at BWI, which I still call Friendship Airport... but I could never afford to live there, no matter how badly I have wished it over the years....
Thank you! We are moving from PA to MD because my husband works in Phoenix. We will be renting until we are able to buy. We are looking into Cockeysville. We have two kids ages 9 & 6.
Born and raised in Baltimore. Thank you for your video. So many different clouded and judgemental responses to this video. No city is perfect. But people saying how bad it is, move. If youve been here for 30 years and its so bad, leave. Don't share your bias negativity with people who want to move here. If you were only here 3 years, you know nothing. Everything in this video is absolutely true and very well said.
Bodymore Murderland Harm City USA isn't that bad. You just can't be soft 😂😅 and no to whatever commitment you come up with! If it's some BS! Now east baltimore Baltimore Street where the Mexicans and Spanish speaking people live there nasty and and disgusting they dump trash everywhere!!!!! Ask a question. I'll answer it as he said.
Well this is interesting. I lived in MD for almost 35 yrs and I lived in the bubble. Moved back to PA IN 2013. Best move I ever made. Maryland is a beautiful state that the developers have just RUINED. ITS CROWDED. TRAFFIC IS INSANE. And you need to be politically correct. Especially in Montgomery Co. Also bring your wallet. It’s not cheap to live there. Carroll co is nice but they are ruining that too especially near Westminster. Same with Washington Co. The DC people are filtering up and the townhouses are popping up. Just my opinion. I don’t miss MD at all !
I lived in Maryland from March 1989 until December 1993. I lived in Savage, a little town that is Exit 38 off of I-95. It was safe at the time, but some sketchy people moved into the apartments. Maryland is an expensive place to live. Sales tax applies to clothes. Bringing a car into Maryland is a nightmare. Traffic is awful. Baltimore is a city to avoid. It is a shame but it is the truth. Western Maryland is a beautiful place and affordable but jobs are scarce. There are better states to live in.
I've only been through Baltimore, and that was about thirty five years ago. I live in Cleveland but grew up in Buffalo. When I think of Baltimore, the number ONE thing that comes to mind is violent crime. The number two thing is violent crime. Moving anywhere even in close proximity of that city wouldn't even enter my mind. I'm SURE there are nice things about it, in fact probably a lot f them, but the issues they have with crime is enough to make me not even want to visit it at this point.
Baltimore expat here. Great vid, you touched on most of the problems. For me, the most exasperating part of living in Baltimore was being called in for jury duty literally EVERY SINGLE YEAR ! Seriously. The pool of potential jurors is so shallow, if you don't have a criminal record, you can expect to be called in on a yearly basis. Interpret that however you will.
I was born (1973) & raised in Baltimore and there is no fricking way I would move there. I’m always going to have love for the city that I was born & raised in but the Baltimore of 2024 is no where near the Baltimore that I grew up in. Not only is the Inner Harbor pretty much shut down but the Gallery Mall is closed and to top it off the downtown area is infested with feral hood rats who have more right than their victims.
There’s really no excuse to “jump into it right now” and take nearly two minutes for filler no quality intro bits. The more RU-vidrs know this trick the less people click off. Go right into data - forget smashing the like button. The trick is to say that good stuff after you have given value. This is why I’ll watch 100 silent RU-vid videos over this fluff.
I´m from Germany and even i heard of the crime in Baltimore, but you guys def getting a bad rep somehow because Detroit aside i didn´t know you were only coming in fifth behind NO, Jackson and St. Louis 😂
Left Maryland in September. Violent crime is at all time high. It’s congested. Cost of living is off the charts. Don’t miss it at all. Working on getting my family out of there, too.
