После психологического обследования и беседы с психотерапевтом (где я перечислила симптомы из видео), мне поставили диагноз "Смешанное расстройство личности (шизотипического, аутистического, пограничного генеза)". Happy comeback everyone! ☺️ This is the first time when I really understood that including both sweet pop-py and extremely hip-hoppy tracks in one album feels not weird but rather BALANCED?.. It's like you don't stuck into one mood and don't tire yourself with the same feeling over and over again. I still have strong preference with harsh sounding songs, but damn, now I really appreciate lyrical ones! Never thought I would, honestly (;ŏωŏ) It feels like a gulp of fresh air when you listen to sweet song after harsh one, and vice versa, you feel really energised and inspired for more when you get hip-hop track after pop one. I love the fact that SKZ give us the opportunity to feel this wide spectre of emotions that freely. Also funny thing, but today in my playlist I accidentally jumped from fresh song to the one made in 2018 or so (from "I am NOT!" I believe?..), and my first thought was "hmmm, I don't remember this song in new album, but maybe there's something with my memory", because even with half of decade between tracks you can clearly hear the distinctive style of SKZ that they have carried through the years. 5-Star was the first album I felt that emotionally invested in, and I had even watched some additional material on it, hahha, like Intro or even album unpacking. There were many interesting thoughts in Intro, by the way! Like the one that despite their initial concept being literally strays feeling lost and wandering, for now it slowly changed for being weird and not "normal", and their wandering now is "established" because they decided to wander willingly. Their goal for now is being "funnily annoying" and to make people feel emotions about it, and I think that it's absolutely wonderful. Another thought that I find beautiful is that all of them have the goal to improve even more with every comeback, taking lessons and trying something new, something unique and different every time and not ever being satisfied with themselves fully to stop evolving. Oh, and the fact that more and more boys are trying themselves in songwriting! ✨

7:37 The thing I like most about Chan is he point out things straight even it's his fandom like he didn't fear but correcting them or handling them when they get too far over something like recently of some hotel bug incident some stays were blaming the company for giving such hotel to them for stay.. in live he clearly pointed and corrected them that it's no one's fault there was bug neither of hotel staff not of company so they should stop blaming company for no reason.. He don't fear of losing fans by pointing out for right and that's what a true leader should act like.. He care for everyone but strict at the same time not to get them out of hand. Seeing him doing his role I always feel like if I have a team in future I'll try to be like atleast.. He is my role model in terms of leadership I KNOW COMMENT IS BIT LONG BUT I FELT LIKE I SHOULD WRITE THIS TOO.. As a STAY.. I would say my experience was healthy like I know there are toxic stans too but still being new into kpop I was warmly welcomed into this fandom.. I feel like a connection with skz as being a fan one should have and I guess this could be the I'm still their fan..

Best weekend of my life. Imma STAY for life. ❤ Our boys are precious and talented asf and its their goofiness as well that drew me hook line and sinker. I would like to dance with them, rap, eat and train with changbin 💪🏼 give them all a big cuddle or lots of big cuddles, goof off with them and cry listening to Seungmin's angelic voice. Thank you for making this! I am glad I stumbled upon this video. You summed up my thoughts about Stray kids. I have never supported a kpop group the way I support Stray Kids. I tried watching other groups but it was never the same, I'm not saying they are not great but there is something about SKZ that just captivated me so much. The relatability of these 8 kids are just so strong. I am fairly new Stay and I am so grateful that I found them in my toughest time. I am 30 yrs old with so many doubts and still trying to find what I really want to do in my life. I am stuck in a job that is making me burnout these days but 3 months ago I found their music and I found comfort in it and I never thought I'd be into kpop but SKZ's huge discography is amazing I can find songs that I like, I can find genres that suits my taste and I can find songs that captures my feelings so well and the fact that they made it themselves screams authenticity to me and it is really one of the many reasons why I am down in this rabbit hole without any intention of going out. I love being a STAY even if I'm still new. I thoroughly enjoy your video and the way you describe their dynamics with each other and with Stay. Again thanks for this.😁

Damn YES! I had the same feelings about kpop because of the worst reputation of BTS fandom, so when my bestie had first talked with me about Stray Kids, I was sceptical, but here I am, totally enamored with kpop and exploring group after group in Spotify… Still there is no group out there with discography, ALL songs from which I would love so wholeheartedly. There are groups who have two-five good songs, but not full albums, and there are Stray Kids whose albums I fully added in favourites. Not saying about their content, so soft and nice, truly cozy and familial! Even if I will sometime go further from kpop (which will not happen anytime soon), Stray Kids will forever have a soft spot in my heart.

Suddenly a lot of things make way more sense. I'm a huge Engene, I'm very excited to see what happens with Enhypen, almost like a proud auntie, but when I started listening to Stray Kids (after Enhypen dragged me back into k-pop), I got hooked HARD. I felt a little confused by it, I don't think I've ever gone so deep into a fandom so fast, and mind you I'm turning 42 this month. But realizing that there are a LOT of STAY my age and even older makes me feel less confused, especially when you throw in the fact that I'm autistic and have severe ADHD (and severe depression, anxiety, and fibromyalgia) on top of being nonbinary and queer. I am discovering other groups, like TXT, NCT, et cetera -- BTS is a monolith that is a little overwhelming to even begin to dippy-toe into -- and there's so much to try and catch up on since I was last into k-pop, which, mind you, was back when SHINee was new and TVXQ still had five members -- but no matter how much I try to expand my fandoms I keep coming back to SKZ and Enha. I don't even have a singular bias for this group anymore, SKZ is my bias. I love these dorks. ❤

Hey guys! My point on "neurodivergent-friendly music" has been again proven right! I accidentally learned (thank you my STAY bestie again, you are the world to me), that 145+ bpm music can help with ADHD burnout. Quote from the video: "listening to music at 145 bpm can help you get your ADHD spark back after burnout. The reason why this works is because high tempo music specifically interacts with your prefrontal cortex. This alters your executive functions and pairs and ambition control and induces faster response time. In other words, fast tempo music helps you get unstuck by bringing your impulsivity back, hitting the restart button on your creative spark". Also in that video I was sent there were listed 20 SKZ tracks (so we have _at least_ twenty tracks) with 145+ bpm, both old and new: for example, The Sound (188), Limbo (162), LoveSTAY (160), Battleground (180), Behind the Light (172), Domino (172), Wolfgang (162), God's Menu (157), Freeze (160), Thunderous (172), Hall of Fame (160), Mixtape: Time Out (160), ITEM (162). Both "spicy" and "pop-py" stylized songs. Soooo… I guess, the jokes that 3RACHA has ADHD are not jokes anymore? Take a bet who has it? Many people agree that it's Chan 😂

I was there and I witnessed how the members really tried to include Han as much as they could in each performance. When Han said he’s okay, you’ll feel the relieved feelings of all Stays in the arena. We’re glad he was able to perform fully on the next day (though I was a bit sad because I missed seeing Han’s amazing dance moves in person lol). For me, the appeal is really that they don’t act like celebrities. Their dynamic is hilarious and the fact they all mostly speak English and have a culturally closer to mine outlook is interesting. Don’t get me wrong, their culture is present in what they do, and that’s fine, they’re a KPop group, but they come across as very relatable to me. Chan the long suffering parent, Minho the cat parent, Seungmin the savage friend and Hyunjin’s dramatic personality, Felix the buddy you can exchange recipes with… Very down to earth. Feels like you could actually meet them anywhere, and sit down to chat and eat with, like old school cronies. Oh, and funny. SKZ is comedy gold.

i just finished your video and that didn't feel like 42 minutes! you're right about skz having a large fanbase from the 35+ group. i'm 36 myself and discovered stray kids during the pandemic. mind you, i've never been a huge kpop fan. the only group i stan before skz was blackpink and that's it. i'm just a casual listener of kpop and to be honest, i was a little bit embarrassed before that i like a few kpop songs because a lot of people think that kpop is just a fad or a weird obsession. then when the pandemic happened and we were all just at home, i discovered these boys. and quarantine didn't feel like quarantine. i felt like i actually found new friends with them. weird. there's something really special about them. so when everything finally went back to normal i told some of my friends about them. and guess what? i finally saw them in concert a week ago with my friend who became a stay as well. and she's also in her mid thirties. haha. i almost started crying when i saw them up close because it felt like i was finally seeing my chaotic younger brothers. btw, they are all good looking men and they all have a warm aura about them. my 7 year old daughter is also a fan btw and she knows all of their songs because of me. her favorite is bang chan because she told me she could understand him because he speaks english(lol) and he's funny. it just proves that stray kids really has wide appeal. it doesn't really matter who you are. during the con i saw someone as young as 5 years old and an old lady that looks like she's 60ish. and yes! lots of lesbians too. and fanboys!!! there were a lot of them during the concerts. again, thank you for this video! i love these boys so much.

Thank you for making this video, and especially so, thank you for pointing out those things about age demographics (I’m 37) and neurodivergencey. I’m not sure if what you say is true, but I can say that when I listen to Stray Kids music, I always find something interesting to listen to beyond just the lyrics. The songs definitely keep my ASD brain entertained and I enjoy listening to the same song many times in a row with a different mindset/intention every time. I see parts of myself a lot in many of the members. Given that their messages focus so much on self-love, being yourself in an unaccepting society built for ‘normal’ people, and finding out who you are to yourself etc, I have a strong impression that there is a lot of ND representation among the members. I always want to say this, but I get scared of backlash from people who think it’s wrong to think this way, as if it would be a tragedy if it were true. Even if it’s not true, the thought brings me a lot of comfort, and the messages in their lyrics makes me feel understood. The fandom as well is friendly on all accounts and they do an amazing job of making Stays feel like one big family, more than ‘just fans’ (but obviously not in an unrealistic/unreasonable way). I honestly wish I had Stray Kids when I was growing up, because it may have given me the support I didn’t have back then, but I’ll gladly take it now as I settle into adulthood. Anyway, great job! This was well made and expressed my own feelings very well!

Thank you a lot for commenting! Well, can I share some "headcanons" about their possible neurodivergence with you? As I have probably said countless times in video and comments, Seungmin rings a bell of familiarity to me by being the same weird - he's pretty straightforward with speaking his thoughts not thinking twice about the nuances of situation, if it would be "alright/normal" or if behaving like that would be considered odd or strange. Aside from that, as far as I know, he doesn't like skinship that much and is pretty calm - or at least not that loudly emotional compared to the other kids, which also adds to the point of him being not like others. Narrowed emotional range + not liking touching + hardly reading the atmosphere sometimes - these things certainly lead me to some conclusions, because these little things are in diagnostic signs of certain neurodivergences (I don't watch Seungmin that closely to say for sure, but I researched the topic of ND bc I'm neurodivergent myself, so I know what I'm talking about) Overall no matter if he's neuroatypical or not for real, his devotion to his profession is very inspirational. If he can become this cool, maybe I can too? It comforts me to no end. We discussed these things with my friend, and she said that Hyunjin is probably ND too, but I can't say a lot of what kind. Well, if you have some thoughts on them overall, can you share with me? I don't know how about others, but I certainly won't judge you for telling these thoughts! I hope if someone stumbles upon this thread they won't be toxic to you too!

@@machgirl6385 Hi, sorry for not getting back to you quickly! As I said before, I’m hesitant to say names simply because it’s frowned upon to speculate. But in a few words, Changbin, Seungmin, Han, and Lee Know radiate ND energy to me. I think Chan has spoken about ADHD before too. I have looked at Hyunjin, but I also don’t look at him enough to say for sure. For Lee Know, a lot of it has to do with how similar he is to myself. He’s often designated as the ‘weird’ one, whose train of thought is hard to pick up on. He likes skinship, but usually only from people he’s especially close to, and he doesn’t really feel the need to keep more than a few of those. He does have difficulty expressing himself and showing that he cares, so he does this instead by taking care of people and teasing them. His humor is quite deadpan, he doesn’t like being the center of attention, he really dislikes unruly clothes, he’s constantly trying to keep his hair out of his eyes and scratching his eyebrows, and he alternates between being Too Loud and Too Quiet. He’s very all or nothing. Also ambidextrous. Also very dependent on routine. He has had issues with maintaining eye contact, but is very good at hiding it (with excessive, intense staring instead). You already went over Seungmin, and I pretty much agree with you on all points. Changbin was a lot harder for me to notice, but once I started looking more closely, it’s very apparent. He definitely has issues with eye contact and has a wandering gaze. He is very methodical in his approach to lyricism, a very deep thinker, and then out of nowhere appears very childlike. It does seem to take him a second to realize a joke had been made (especially about him) and tends to just go along with the crowd. He also is exceptionally and specifically passionate about health and working out to the point of obsession. I’ve heard other ND people compare themselves to him with glee of seeing a person like him in his position, like what you said about Seungmin. For Han, he really just never settles down, his brain is always working and needing stimulation of some kind, but because of social anxiety, he has limited options of how to expend it. So he stays in bed all day and watches informational youtube videos. He has a lot of trouble remembering things, not just the obvious of his lyrics, but where he puts things, that he needs to clean up his messes, etc, so I do see him as needing a lot of support, which the others give him as much as possible. He really reminds me of one of my best friends in this way, who is also ND. People will say that oh, that’s not so uncommon, lots of people do such and such, but it really is a matter of having a cluster of traits all at once that convinces me. But yeah, even if it’s not true, it brings me comfort to think it is. And it would explain a lot of why their music is so appealing to ND folk, whether it’s deliberate or because it does for them what it does for us. I like to think it’s deliberate, because they rarely do anything in their music by accident. Anyway! Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk!

@@machgirl6385 Because everything is kinda new, like the idols (Stray kids) their names, personalities, likings and their story, it's like opening a door to a new beginning type of strange cause I've been a solo Stan for o BTS only for a very long time

@@everlight3572 I was in your position a couple months ago. I found bts in 2021 and only followed them until I wanted to branch out. Then I found Stray Kids and felt a connection to them. I realized that it’s ok to love multiple groups and be a multifan. I’m trying to explore even more groups and maybe some of them will become favorites for me too. Even idols from diff groups are friends who support each other (Lee Know was actually a dancer for BTS!). It might feel strange but it’s also fun getting to know them because they’re all unique and likable!
