Dak is about the best thing going for a dragstrip terror. stong af platform. run stock suspension, (never ditch the rear leaves, unless you're quicker than 8 seconds, maybe. Leaf springs are strong, durable, low CG, efficient, repeatable, no tuning/setup woes..there is no downside to running them) cooling, brakes..no need to strengthen the chassis, nothin but a rollcage for sub 11 sec machines & in that case, a small, lower weight, lower cost cage :) just hop up the V8 magnum or swap in an old LA engine or Gen 3 hemi, even a mopar big block will fit..need a sure grip rear & big rear tires, exaust and you're there.
Tom Johnson one thing I've done is grab a passenger axle .cut about 3 1/8" off near the spring perches both sides re center both side.. measure the differences between drivers side and passenger side.. I've hauled much weight on this swap..
@@whf3826 didn't know that.. but I never try to out drive my brakes in anything. Love my 00 RT. 2300 converter from mopar, mopar computer going for a cam I watched Richard Holdener's VIDEOS he's recently done some 5.9 magnum stuff.
@@whf3826 I've heard you can bolt on the 2 piston calipers from the newer trucks...I'm not 100% what parts are needed but I saw a YT video not too long ago...All stock parts
