Power on old girl power on old girl power on old girl power on old where do I go without you when I'm feeling so alone power on old girl power on old girl power on old girl
its not fair, how can we be saying goodbye to one of the best trains on the uk rail network, not one of the best for 1970 or 1980 or even 1990, but one of the best ones for 2018. why is it we had to say goodbye to the HST fleet but still have to suffer those god aweful 150s 153s 158s 159s sprinters, super sprinters, all such like that and then have to pretend that the 800 even holds a candle to the 43. its just not fair. I wish that I could go back to the late 90s and enjoy the train all over again because Im just not ready to see it go, I had hoped that the castle class 43s would be held onto for many years as a bloody good replacement for those god aweful ones but now even that is being taken away
Rest in peace to the HST power on old girl power on old girl power on old girl you're always have a special place in my heart as my favourite high-speed inner city train enjoy your retirement HST until we meet again. Definitely a magical place, in all its guises. I managed to take a look around as a young teen in the early 90s by accessing the depot by the canal. Asking an employee if I could take a look around ‘Yep, as long as you don’t say I said yes’ 😂😂
Wow what a fantastic idea ! Please can you show more of these , pity u missed out mny own station of radleyu here though . :) very useful way to showcase a journey and filmed on a HST too long live the window hanging !
Yes, luckily I manage to cover most of the drop light routes in 2018-19, just missed out in diversionary routes on MML and ECML and the up and down sleeper parts of WCML in day light. Oh and Welsh 67 & Mk3 train.
Having been round nearly every BR depot from the ‘80s onwards, this one eluded me. It’s great to finally see inside here, albeit online. Thanks for the video 👍🏻
@@philwignall6714 glad you are enjoying it Phil. The depot team were so helpful and really wanted to get it all recorded, I did it in 4 separate visits I think. Have you clicked on the little sound button too left? Just adds a bit of atmosphere. I have also done Landore which is published, and St Philips Marsh, Laira and Long Rock still need to be edited.
Hi thanks for the update. No not had the sound on. Will give it a go. I’ve been around Landore in the mid 80s when it used to have at least 15-20 locos on shed. I’ve also been inside Long Rock, we were allowed in to take a photo of the shunter in there. But St Phillips was another (HST) depot I never visited.
@@philwignall6714 Landore was a complete shadow of its self when I visited. I full HST for 30 mins one power car and two shunters. Will drop you a message once SPM is published. The tours of the depots that are still active are not as thorough as OOC and LE.
@@Danse_Macabre_125 I have messaged scotrail, they said they have them on lease until 2030, however the carriages are said to be until 2025. It sounds to me like there are options to keep the train but it involves expensive updates to them. I will feature it all in the video im working on, GWR and cross country are getting rid of them entirely, the lease companies are in talks about what to do with them but cannot comment but they are worried and its likely another batch will be scrapped should scotrail not want more very soon
Thanks Keith, I have to split up the journey due to file sizes being 1GB per minute!! I have split the trip into seven films, and thankfully, the sun comes out later!
Do you know what I’d love, you should try and add an option for VR mode as I’d love to sit on my arm chair and pretend I’m window hanging, it will actually bring back memories of when HSTs were around on the ECML, and it will be even more memorable when the final slam door HSTs go.
Eddie's Adventures it does work if you have some simple VR glasses and use your phone. A little glasses logo appears when watching horizontally in the RU-vid mobile app, push that! 👍🏼😊
This person called Kieran’s Transport Diaries is saying that I’m breaking the law to put my camera out the window of a MK3 on a clamp, apparently that is window hanging. What’s even more concerning is that he has managed to convince people that I did window hang, although it is not true that I did actually window hang, he is still trying to make people think I break the law! If I’m honest I think the spread of false information like that deserves to be the crime, not the so called “window hanging” I apparently took part in.
Eddie's Adventures the internet is an awesome tool, but it also has a lot of negative sides. To what I am aware, stinking your head out of a window is not against any law, TOCs do not want you to do it due to the dangers. I always used to window hang as a kid in the 90s and would be told off by the odd guard then too. I do not film on the network anymore as the number of cooperative guards quickly went to zero. Saying that, I don’t really have many routes I have missed.
