General discussion of music. My primary interests in music are Hard Rock, Heavy Metal, Classic Rock...but certainly not limited to those genres. I try to have an open mind with an overall appreciation for many other genres as well.
Agreed! Often forgotten as Perry gets most of the love, but similar to Malcolm Young in AC/DC, he had just as much to do with the sound most came to love of Aerosmith. I have heard the Testament cover and I appreciate their sound and like it...still doesn't hold a candle to this imho.Thank you for stopping by and commenting Jason. Cheers! 🍻✌️🤘🎶🤘
I just came across this short. I would say I like AC/DC best out of all of the “heavy metal bands“. I’ve been toying around with purchasing all of those new 50th anniversary records. I have the back in black one which was my favorite.
Hey Brian! Yeah I definitely dig most AC/DC...though I do lean to the early years with Bon on vocals. Still love Back in Black, For Those About To Rock, Flick Of The Switch, even Fly On The Wall, Who Made Who, and Blow Up Your Video. I can do without Razors Edge and onward however. Glad you found this ole short and enjoyed my friend. 😂 Cheers bud! 🍻✌️🤘⚡️🤘
@@twangersturntable the solo on KILL THE KING equals the HIGHWAY STAR solo. Seen Dio and when he played Silver Mountain, it was the only time Doug Aldridge smiled. The entire song. I was literally 6 feet from him.
Hey Brian! Yeah it's a classic my friend. The late great Ginger Baker as well on drums🥁. Good to hear from you. I know I have been away for a stretch, so thanks for taking the time as always my friend. Cheers bud! 🍻✌️🤘🎶🤘
Hey Mike! All good my friend. Hope all is well in MGK world headquarters as well bud. Just decided to put the RU-vid stuff on hold while the grandsons are off for the summer. The older they get the more active we are. They go back on the 29th so I will be back! Thanks Mike. Cheers bud! 🍻✌️🤘🎶🤘
@@TheBeardedItalian Thanks Brian. I've discovered so much (mostly) great music since being here on RU-vid. Glad I could do the same for someone else. Appreciate you taking the time as always my friend. Cheers bud! 🍻✌️🤘🎶🤘
@@AnthonyGambler812 Oh man! One of my all time faves brother. Good for you man. Gonna be a hellava weekend bro. No repeat!! I missed them last year here in Montreal as we were still getting settled and had prior commitments. Funding played a little part too...not gonna lie. Lol! Enjoy Anthony. Thanks buddy. Cheers! 🍻✌️🤘🎶🤘
@@mark_beastpriest5539 Me too Mark. When Puppets first came out the pendulum swung in favour of that for a few years, then ...AJFA, but RTL has always been my fave at heart 🤘⚡️❤️🤘 Thanks for taking the time man. Really appreciate it. Cheers bud! 🍻✌️🤘🎶🤘
@@MickeyMaffei I can't argue with that (and why would anyone?!! Lol!) the entire album is so killer that this song was actually considered filler...the weakest and the one they didn't really want. Wow!! I guess that speaks to how things have changed. This is such an incredible track. It would certainly top any track they've recorded in 30 plus years imho...and I love these guys! Thanks my friend. Appreciate you bro. Cheers bud! 🍻✌️🤘🎶🤘
Such an underrated song in Metallica's catalogue. My favourite Metallica album too, Happy 40th to it. I live by the lyric "Life's for my own to live my own way" 🤘🏻🤘🏻
@@twangersturntable Hey Mark! Yeah same, this album will never get boring for me, I could listen to it everyday still! You're welcome mate, I love this song and album! 😊🤘🏻
@@robbnasinovish Hey Robb! Thanks man. Glad you dig it. Great hooks indeed.🪝 Lol! Yeah, we gotta go at the Monday thing, I hear ya. Hope you have a good week though bud. Cheers! 🍻✌️🤘🎶🤘
@@dhanvinrakesh2424 Resentments are a funny thing and I believe James still holds a bit of resentment to the label for insisting on a more radio friendly song to be included on the album to appease the execs...hence the song he wrote called "The Hammer" became Escape. It is actually one of my faves on the lp and one I really related to as a 16 year old. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment. Really appreciate it. Cheers man! ✌️🍻🤘🎶🤘
I will start by saying, I am not an audiophile, and while the sound obviously is very important to me, my system is very modest and I only have an old cassette tape for comparison. Having said that, to me it does sound good. It is very quite...no surface noise. *I always clean my records, even when brand new out of the shrink, before playing...this has for me been very important to insure a clean sound* It is a classic album imho. Hope you get your copy and enjoy. Cheers! 🍻✌️🤘🎶🤘
@@luckysixteen9361I agree...title track was the one I almost went with and I like every track. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment. Glad you enjoyed it. Cheers! 🍻✌️🤘🎶🤘
Hey Mickey! That is actually the arse end of my giant cat! Lol! I'd say tail end, but he has no tail! We call him Pumpkin stump (well, just Pumpkin) but he looks like he has a stump and he's orange, so... you know. Thanks my friend. Hope all is well with you man and wishing you a great week too. Cheers bud! 🍻✌️🤘🎶🤘
Hey Craig! I also have Permanent Waves (it was on the turntable) not up there, but still need a few to complete the Rush discography. Thank you. Appreciate you taking the time man! Cheers bud! 🍻✌️🤘🎶🤘
Why have I never heard of this band!!?? After I watched your short here I looked them up. Listened to a few tunes and I must say they were really good. It all comes back to the people I hung around with and the path I took into classical music at an early age. If it weren’t for KISS, I wonder if I’d even had listened to any rock ‘n’ roll back in the early 80s!
Hey Brian! I ask myself that very question in each instance I hear music for the first time and I really dig it! 😊 One of the greatest things about humanity imho is the art we create, and thankfully there is so much of it one can always be discovering such things that are new. In the words of one such artist I dig which I heard in such a song years ago…”I’ve seen a lot of things, but I have not seen a lot of other things”. So glad you dig this one my friend. Thanks for taking the time to watch and share. Hope you have a great Sunday. Cheers bud! ✌️🍻🤘🏻🎶🤘🏻
@@MGKBOSTON Hey Mike! Thanks my friend. Hope you enjoy the weekend. All the talk of next Saturday sounds like it will be epic. I suspect next Sunday may be a few cases of Saturday Night Fever or Hair Of The Dog. 😉 Cheers bud! 🍻✌️🤘🎶🤘
Really cool to have music in your collection with family connections I'll give King Beezz a search on RU-vid now. I've got to get around to putting my collection on discogs at some point 😅 Given him another sub he's up to 86 now. Good to see you mate 🍻
@@pieface8032 Hey Pie! Good to hear from you man! Hope all is well on your side of the pond my friend. It's a daunting task to get everything up on discogs, not sure I will ever have it all done. Lol! Keep you expectations in check when searching out King-Beezz, it's very typical mid - late 60's pop sound...unless one likes that I guess. Cheers bud! 🍻✌️🤘🎶🤘
Hey Brian! Yes indeed they are/were Canadian. Were around since the early 70's (72 - 73?) out of Toronto in fact. Kim Mitchell the lead vocalist was a short I posted previously. Thanks for stopping by my friend. Hope you are enjoying the weekend. Cheers bud! 🍻✌️🤘🎶🤘
Canucklehead spotted! Hey! I was just checking out response videos to Northern Vinyl Guy’s thread and saw yours. Nice Rush collection! I’ll check out some more of your videos later! Max Webster! I showed Mutiny Up My Sleeve. Love April Wine! One of my top ten Canadian bands!
Hey Peter! Thanks for taking the time to check out my vid. Much appreciate you doing so. I dig any of Max Webster...as I do April Wine and Rush. I have been subbed to you for a while. I'll definitely be checking out your entry. Cheers bud! 🍻✌️🤘🎶🤘
Hey Mark. Thanks for the thread response. So many albums to appreciate on this one. You truly did go Canadian which I am happy for. April Wine is amazing. My parents loved that stuff when I was ankid. Never heard of Vardis, but Max Webster, Kim Mitchell, Trooper and The Hip are all great stuff. My phone is about to die, so, until next time, Cheers. Darryl.
Hey Darryl! I definitely try and put emphasis on Canadian content. April Wine would be near the top of any list for me...Canadian or otherwise. Cheers bud! 🍻✌️🤘🎶🤘
@twangersturntable I once entered a radio contest in the 90s for April Wine tickets (I was a teen pumping gas at Shell) hoping I could get them for my parents
Hey Brian! Thanks pal. Yes The Monks "No Shame No Shame!" 😂 Funny how the 50th worked out, in spite of thinking I'm lacking in Canadian content on vinyl. Cheers bud! 🍻✌️🤘🎶🤘
I am surprised you have not heard Vardis...seem like something I think you will dig. You may even recognize The Lions Share from their debut I showed. I'm not big on comparisons, but dare I say Steve Zodiac with both his vocal and guitar style, reminds me of many bands of the 70's rock/hard rock era. I only have the debut and the follow up "The Worlds Insane". Thanks bud!
Hey Brian! Yes indeed those are my three grandsons. They are the reason I have so little time to post on my channel these days...and that is not a complaint. Thanks my friend. Cheers bud! 🍻✌️
@@TheCollectorCave Indeed the prices are insane. Even the 2015 reissue like the one you see here is in excess of $400 in some cases now. It's been almost 10 years, so I agree, another reissue is in order. Thanks for checking out my short and commenting. Cheers! 🍻✌️🤘🎶🤘
Agreed! Geddy is often overlooked...especially by those whom aren't keen to his voice. But his bass is incredible imho. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment. Cheers! ✌️🍻🤘🎶🤘
