is the 24 inch BMX large enough to sit and ride through the city with as well? so that one can actually sit down in the saddle and also commute 20-40 min over downtown here and there, and still feel relaxed in the hip and knees?
@uptownbmx6623 I'm 5'9 wondering the same. I was looking at 26in but found an old 24' that I'm in love with the looks. Just worried about the commute on a smaller wheel.
No. Basically any bike but 20" bikes are generally the easiest, Street BMX, Flatland. I have a friend who put a peg on a cheap mountain bike and did hang 5's in Critical Mass rides.
I am about 5'10" (I am on the 20" in the video) but it felt natural to me when I rode it a few times. If you can borrow one to try out it may be for you.
Never could get the smoothie out. When the frame gets to the T position (bars 90 degrees from the frame) I always seem to loop out like slipping on a banana peel.
Ah the trick to the smoothie is to lean forward. Also you can turn a little with the front wheel on the way out. I was up against the wall and you can see I turn a little to the left to force since I was out of room.
Its been 4 months that ive startes flatland i got inspired by red bull documentaries in nigerian and indian riders im tryin to master lung spin im now in the phase of switching hands which is so hard but still keeo in going welded my stem to my fork so it wont keep squirming still does the job then ill go check every junk shops again for any brocken down bikes cause theire cheap for spare parts i love bmx for ever fuck mtbs fuck cars fuck motor bikes fuck girls fuk flashy lights only bmx for me from now on 🇵🇭👍👌❤️
Holy shit I've been trying this trick on and off for at least 5 years without tutorials. Thanks to this video I finally landed one today. Turns out what I was doing wrong was not preparing the pedal position (turning into it from a pedal stance instead of peg stance). Still riding that high from landing it. Only landed one so far but I'm sure I just gotta keep practicing.
@@uptownbmx6623 I stopped riding BMX in 82 because I outgrew my old 20" Schwinn Scramblers, but I just got my first 24" it's a SE So Cal Flyer my neighbor gave me a great price on, so I'm back in the BMX tribe again. :)
Thanks for the tips! I can do the steamroller and Hang 5 now, but how do you link them? I'm struggling to get the frame to swing around into the steamroller when I'm in the Hang 5. Thanks!
