Very late - but thank you for putting this tribute together to tell this story. I’m not from your community; but I’m better for hearing this story of heroism.

Very few cops are heroes. That title is misused allot. Most cops serve because it's good for their ego or maybe they just wanted a steady paycheck. Many wear the uniform and shouldn't. I know that personally.

For people who don't use their brains, how is this not justified? If this man would have hit or injured you or a family member you would be screaming lawsuit, cops didn't do job, how many people did this man put in harms way with his w reckless driving, second a car is a deadly weapon when intentionally hitting anyone, these LEOs have to try to switch adrenaline after this idiot acted crazy to try to save him. With only 2 officers they did what was needed. After the LEO fired the 3 shots he would have put his gun down waited for a higher ranking LEO to take over. But no he still tried to save the crook,. And why was dude running?

I didn’t have a single problem with sound. I also use captions for all videos I watch including Netflix & on my home tv. You can read what they are saying while getting fired upon in the wooded area.
Car chases can only be justified if there's a murderer or kidnapper to chase. How dare any of you think that its ok to put hundreds of lives in danger for the sake of a stupid stolen car. As far as trying to run the cop over...1. how do you know that? Cops lie about stuff like that all the time to justify their violence. 2. running from the cops is what caused that. If they hadn't been chasing him like children do, he wouldn't have tried that. Its not like he would be driving around the city looking for someone to run over. NEVER but for murder or kidnapping is a car chase EVER justified. I've seen too many civilians hurt by this. And I've been run off the road twice to avoid a head on collision with a cop because they were totally focused on the chase. Chases kill and maim innocent people.

Lmao if these guys were trained half as good as their canines they’d maybe not come off as a bunch of simpletons incapable of turning off flashlights or using their radios and probably would have needed only 1/100 of the resources they used to get this guy. To the total morons that said the cop shouldn't have gotten out with the car still moving. Um...last I checked the car was blocked in or so the officer thought. The drive did however see a cop in front of him with a gun aimed at him and took off. Well duh. In case you didn't know it....a car is considered a deadly weapon. How many people argue with a car and win? The way that person was driving, he put the lives of everyone around him in danger. He could have killed, maimed or injured any or all of them. That person had to be stopped. People forget that the world doesn't revolve around them alone. And truth be told most of these selfish people are losers to begin with. They don't live by the laws that most honest people do. They don't have a driver's license or ID, insurance or registration for those vehicles and lots of times the vehicle is stolen so they don't care. If you or one of your family members had been killed or injured by that person, I bet you'd be the first one to scream that the law should have taken him off the road.
