I have listened to this piece hundreds of times at this point, but Kissin is the first performer to give my whole body chills. the way he just hammers at the chords throughout the whole piece is something I have never heard before, but it's the best way I can think to play it! Kissin is truly one of the best there is and this recording is just one of the many reasons I think he is currently the but pianist alive.
Not that many people can play all the right notes in the correct order, far fewer get the flow right, but Evgeny is the only one who puts the perfect power behind each note too, i don't hear anything that sounds out of place. This, and his version of La Campanella are so good they make me emotional every time.
0:14, unnecessary variation that breaks the pace. 0:43, don't like how he arrange the variations. Kissin, technically perfect, probably the best fingers on earth. But sometimes I wish he can slow down and listen.
So clean, so fast, but too much rubato for me ... Beethov' was someone very (Lunatic) Yes! He changed often the tempo of a phrase depends the (mood) of his phrase in one piece. But this style of rubato kissin did are more for Chopin or other Romantic stuff. This piece of Beethoven, the phrase, the structure, are closer to the Classical Register than Purely romantic register ... But still, Bravo, it add a little fresher to this piece. Even if it's not my way to go with it. I don't know i feel too much delicacy with this version...
Not nearly the pinnacle. It's basically just very fast arpeggios in the beginning which are very hard to play in the right tempo but there are much harder pieces like for example "La Campanella" by Paganini/Liszt...
@@TheHimbeerjoghurt La campanella does not consider to be hard pieces in classical field. Many people can play most of technical pieces if they practice. However, what many pianists and piano players think about the hardest pieces are such as chopim ballade 4 ..
+jjcruiser I don't disagree about the genius or the magnificient rendition, on the contrary, but I'd like to point you at Daniil Trifonov (check his Lyon performance of Bach-Liszt 542 and Beethoven 111) for the title of best pianist of our generation :) I'd think he does easily compete in the same category as Evgeny.
I found this song through the amazing japanese anime "your lie in April" it was a show about a romance between a pianist and a violinist, the music led me to search it up 😋
I think Franz Liszt probably played it the best. He's arguably the best pianist of all time. He sight read Chopins etudes perfectly... Slightly too fast... And Chopin was jealous of how well he played them...
A swift, precise and inspirational interpretation to admire, with marvellous execution of pedalling and expression. Years of practice, dedication and experience can be seen in here, even without a video being available. One of my long-time favourite pianists. =)
