This man lost all "Performance " credibility with me the very moment he lifted the hood of that 69 BB Chevelle and sitting under the air cleaner was the non performance Edelbrock Big box store carburetor that I myself would NEVER use on anything ..they are good for one thing and one thing only . They were meant for the Wannabe car guy the posser who showed up late to the car guy arena ...
I am just a sim 'pilot' and just getting into flying twins. Mostly a Baron 58. Curious if it is normal for the mixtures to be that uneven? Enjoy your videos!
it is a rare time when the mechanics can get the mixture levers to match, this plane happens to in the process of getting new fuel pumps and fuel controller so the next time you see it on video they should be closer together
I am sure that he took the autopilot off regularly to make sure that the autopilot wasn't compensating for a out of trim. The auto pilot will hide control problems until it can't compensate anymore and disconnects. Leaving a uncontrollable airplane. Better to hand fly. A Aero-Commander was in that same area and penciled due to ice and a "malfunctioning" autopilot.
Jerry: I enjoy your flights but occasionally am relieved that I am not an actual passenger. Your reliance on the fact your airplane is a powerful twin with known-icing capability are not justifications for some of the risks you take. I hope I am overacting to how you describe some of the situations you intentionally create. And I of course wish you well.
For anybody watching there is no such thing as secondary minimums. Totally dangerous if actually IFR. You know better Jerry! You can’t just change your minimums because you can’t see the runway if actually IFR. Good way to clip trees or hit an obstacle…
the "Secondary Minimums" refer to the straight in minimums as opposed to the circle to land minimums, this is when you cannot break out of the clouds on a circle to land approach and you choose to continue to the straight in minimums , AT NO TIME ARE YOUR BELOW THE PUBLISHED MINIMUMS FOR THE APPROACH so no way to clip trees or hit an obstacle
You execrised a lot of patient with your wife. She should have been talking less to allow you to concentrate but it apparently did not bother you. Good job.
Port of Ports > we have a problem > we're declaring an emergency ...2 souls onboard...1 unwanted. Absolutely priceless content Jerry > was disappointed however in that you didn't find a more apropos film quote to insert > at the very least something from Tom & Jerry 😉
@@Jerry.Wagner Thank you for the fast response, I’m not sure exactly what was going on. If you find out any information maybe you could do a debrief on your thoughts.
Great Job ❤ Glad you and your family are ok. 2 things. Always stay above Blue Line Airspeed on final. IF you HAD to go around single engine you would be in a precarious position. Always have a glideslope dialed in so the Flight Director can give you help and altitude crossing heights. Especially at night. That may be tied into your avionics- I don’t fly that brand. We had an engine failure at 2am, IMC, full load of passengers in Mountainous Terrain and had to shoot a VOR approach. Hydroplaned down the runway-got it stopped 10 feet before the end. I remember the adrenaline. 😅 Thankfully we had a 2 pilot crew. Was flying a B-1900D. Engine Out, reduced flaps for landing and when reducing power all your trim you put in makes in harder to wrestle. Glad you are safe. 🎉
dude. You're a f#@king idiot. I live where you're flying. Chill with the bullshit. To your wife, you're right. much of what you've flown over was burned in the past five years and what you were flying over when your hubby stepped in it is what much of the area looked like before it was burned. Fires jump around so there will be spots in the footprint that survive. Brush will recover quickly with enough water with trees following.
I saw you flying on FR24 when you were enroute to KLLR. Glad you made a great video. You flew over Williams in Colusa County. Willows is 20 nm N in Glenn County and they have the good Nancy's Airport Restaurant and good priced fuel. The orchards west of Williams are Almonds, Walnuts and Pistachios. The new Sites Reservoir will be just west of Maxwell over the first ridge-line.
And the tree farmers call them AMMONS!? I’m with Nancy…”Almonds”. Spent a year in the Woodland area teaching school, so enjoyed the aerial views of the region! Thanks for taking me along!!!
Was the wife helpful at all during that emergency? Yikes. 30 minutes on one engine? Really? The title for this video should be “losing an engine and finding out my co-pilot isn’t any help”. 😮
@@Jerry.Wagner Nope just lived there and got my pilots license at lampson.. and would do touch and goes at Peirce.. my job was selling land so I know those mountains about as good as anyone living IMHO.. so from the ground and the air LOL.. you flew over High valley as well and there is a really nice airport you could see of your left wing. an LA millionaire built a big mansion in the 60s and put the airport in its lighted.. fires have devastated lake county last 10 years.. but all that land burns over time.. its just sad when its not only all the brush but the timber.. we used to drive through Indian Valley before the lake was in.. google Bartlett Springs mineral resort some fascinating history. SR 22 owner/pilot
indian valley rec facilities are at the dam.. your flying over the creek that fills it called Bartlet springs.. it was a massive mineral resort in the 1800s mid .
Loved the flight. I was born and raised in Ukiah. I took flying lessons at UKI in a Cessna 150 (N22585). My first solo cross country was to Little River. My family used to go camping several times a year at McKarricker State Park. Fun times!
I grew up in Willows Ca. I think you meant Willows not Williams. The Airport Cafe is at Willows airport. There is a little glider airport east of town of Williams. Love your videos. I’ve learned a lot from watching your great videos over the years. Thanks for letting us ride along.
you are correct, it was Willows, been a while since I was up there, all I remember was a bunch of good ole boys in overalls at the restaurant, they were local Farmers who put food on our plates
@@Jerry.Wagner I solo at Willows airport on my 16th birthday. Hope to eventually meet you someday. Thanks again for sharing your flight experiences with us.
