I've been baking from scratch lately because my husband likes good home cooked meals without the preservatives. This recipe is a delight. I added blueberries and chocolate chips to the batter. Just perfect.
OMG, I just made some of these and I was eating the filling before I even put it in the pastry!! Im from NZ but have been living in Australia now for 24 years. Its a bit hit and miss here with the pies sometimes, cant beat a good NZ pie :) NZ also has the best sausage rolls, do you have a video on making them?
That is NOT true about mixing with a hand mixer for hours to get it light and fluffy. I do not have a stand mixer and I use my hand mixer to beat butter it takes the same time the only difference is that you end up with a tired arm but I can guarantee you it does NOT take hours!
