Welcome to my channel. Thank you so much for subscribing to my channel; I am grateful! My subscriber list is growing, which means you like the content that I'm putting up. That makes me happy because I love to sew and would love to encourage others to do the same!
I learned to sew when I turned 18. Just a few months after I had my first child. My experience varies from children's clothes, home dec, women's clothes, bridal, and alterations for men and women. I am a problem solver! so I dabble in some inventions/designs for issues people deal with. If you like my videos and find them helpful please share them on your social media. Thank you, Angie
@@jmjcc5 It was for my brother. Yes it works. I’m going to make some other stuff with the left over fabric. I’ll demonstrate how it works in that video.
The double sided is the way to go as long as the material is thin enough to lay properly…which yours does. I think it’s beautiful 😊! Are you going to make a video showing the completed project?
I will on the next batch. I really enjoy watching people sew, with music and no talking! lol So, I might do that for a Christmas-Themed Playlist. I'm just really backed up on work and I'm trying to get through it as quickly as possible.
A good workaround to the chest being too tight is to add a gusset in the underarm. I really liked seeing your trial and error though. Felt like a much less daunting project for myself after watching (vs the videos where they practically wave a magic wand and it fits perfectly at the end 😭).
I’ve seen those videos. Lol I’m working on another video where I do exactly that. Enlarge the top to make the arms and chest fit better because my daughter-in-law wants this dress so bad! Lol ❤️
Currently no. I don’t have the consistent workload. If I had enough work to keep me busy for 8 hours per day, I’d be making a lot more than minimum wage.
I learned to sew as a child on an Elna sewing machine with a knee presser «foot»!!! It was kind of temperamental though… At some point my mom had a presser foot adapted onto it. I missed the knee «speed», it was actually very practical!!! I remember my mom buying the machine from my grand aunt when she emigrated from here (Norway) to the USA in 1971, she didn’t bring much when she moved so she was selling everything she owned, including that Elna machine. It was a neat machine though, it had a very well made case where half actually doubled as a sewing table for the machine. Gave you a large table, much better than the modern ones made from acrylic!!! Sorry for the long story, I got reminded when I saw you’re sewing with an Elna machine. 🤗❤❤❤
A question, I love that ruler you are using here. Seems very useful. Do you know what it is called and what brand it is, so I can look to see if I can find one? Thanks a lot! 🤗 ❤❤❤
I collect rulers and I love this one! Here is a link to the one I have. I also love 6" rulers for alterations. They're very handy for smaller areas that you're working on.
I haven’t done jeans like you do them in a long time. When possible, I transplant the original hem back onto the new length. It looks soooo much better and you can’t see that the hem has been transplanted. I learned it years ago from a video here on RU-vid. LOVE that method!!! The seam you do make, you do with thread matching the jean color on the outside, like you did here too. You sew the old hem onto the pant leg (right side against right side) just above the (usually yellow) original hem seam, then zig-zag or overlock the raw edges as close as you can before pressing the seam well and you won’t ever see that there is a seam there. All you see is that original hem!!! PS! When I was done with this video and had written this comment, RU-vid automatically gave me a video on how to transplant the old hem!!! So I figured I’d go back and give you the link: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-bc8hwF7f5oQ.htmlsi=ErrJKxVHVVAKPsnN 🤗 ❤❤❤
I know the hem you're talking about. I learned it pre-internet and they called it a French hem if I remember correctly. Whoever came up with it was very clever!
Seemed like it actually cut nicer when you layed it down on the table… Thanks for demonstrating!!! I always wondered what these were for… 🤗 ❤❤❤ PS! I really love sharp and pointy things and cool presser feet. I have quite a collection, and keep adding just because I can, LOL!!! 😂😂😂
Miss Angela, I’m new to sewing and you totally wowed me with this video and your skills. Thank you! You’ve given me the confidence I need to shorten my husband’s sleeves. 😊
Horrible tutorial. "I don't know how to explain it"....try English. She does not account for the finished length of the leg. Just put a cuff on it ! And don't paint your nails like a 12 year old.
Loved you video & hun, Never apologize for how you sound, there's no need for it. If people have an issue with how your voice is coming across, that's there issue.
Thank you so much for sharing this very easy to follow method! I was worried shortening 4-shirts would be a big project, but I can get them all done easily in an hour or 2 after watching your video. :D
Another wonderful video…by-the-way you’re going to really enjoy the blind hemming machine…I finally got one and had to practice for a month before using on first client…love it 😂
Thanks Mam, your guide was very helpful. Just Got my freshly sewn formal trousers & they r a little tight around my waist, have to return them to the tailor and have them let out another inch or so. Was worried about the darker triangle on the back, which i don't have to since the pants are jet black and they r brand new.
Thank you Angela , I does the same , I feel embarrassed to charge so I tell the offer me a reasonable amount and give them a refund if I find it's too much , I thank you very much for guidance in pricing ❤
Yes. It's a math problem. Doing it the first way is going to be problematic because once you trim any amount the hole is now larger than the sleeve with all attendant problems. Your way addresses all issues thoughtfully so there should be no surprises as you sew.
I have a pair of pants dungarees that are similar , the bum and hips make the crotch too high on me ,I'll have to open the outside hips add a crochet lace because it pulls on the sides when I sit ,I might turn it into a skirt.only other thing I can think is adding material a bit in the interior of the pants ,could look a bit interesting ..🤔
I love the idea of crocheted lace insert! I've made many skirts from pants back in the day. Usually just using the same denim or a slightly lighter or darker denim.
@@AngelaWoolsey thank you for your comment , I've got a similar type of thickness to denim I will undo from something I found that not used but still pondering 🤔 , thanks for this video,it's a bit of a tricky one so I appreciate your time to share and experiment...I hope you have a beautiful day 💕
I have a job interview in a couple days and I needed a short sleeve button up shirt to wear with my 3/4” sleeve blazer and was having no luck in my small town. You saved the day with your video, my shirt is perfect and I’m going to nail that interview. Thank you!
Thank you, thank you, thank you! My husband is 5' 2" so absolutely everything needs to be shortened! This makes so much sense after you see it! Also, it works great on shorts as well as pants.
