I hated the fact that things were "gated" behind the special gear you needed to collect -- and I LOATHED that they ruined machine overrides. Back in HZD, a favorite thing of mine was to override machines then sit back and watch the show. The mechanical animals felt 'normal' or 'more natural' than forbidden west's GIANT Slitherfangs or the Tideripper; like... each machine was meant to be there, that it had a purpose. Also... Far Zenith were godawful, not just because they were the WORST of humanity amplified but because they were underutilized. Regalla/Regalia was more a threat than they were and even she felt cartoony. "I will return with everything I have!" Me: "Oh, FFs, just kill her Aloy..." The Red Blight and the effects of the failing terraforming system were... just there... There are NO CONSEQUENCES of this all being there; no tribes really suffering, the water is still clean, etc. Just... all underutilized. Aloy... what the hell happened to her?! She's a b_tch to everyone until people start getting focuses.
If you’re referring to DLC weapons, they cost Bluegleam which last I checked does not carry over with a NG+ save. So you will have to get blugleam all over again during NG+. In regards to other weapon types, I do not remember their shard/resource cost on UH. I basically only use DLC bows for my play throughs.
Play through base game story, do only what you need. Play through DLC story, do only what you need. Complete “Out of The Forge”, get a Pristine weapon coil. Save file for NG+ Start NG+ and repeat steps until you have all the Pristine Weapon Coils you want/need.
Thank you! I said exactly what I meant! Freeze enhances physical damage by 3x bonus damage to the bodies of machines and 2x bonus damage to weak points of machines. Machine weak points have varying bonus damage multipliers that factors in on top of Freeze bonus multiplier. As an example TJaw hearts have a 5x bonus damage modifier, so a frozen TJaw takes 10x bonus damage to their heart.
@@Psykko_You're right, I just got confused by 3x bonus damage meaning 3x damage and not 3x additional damage. So 300% total damage to the body. Also, is the 2x/3x arrow reloading effected by handling?
Hey! I'm not sure if you're still active, but if you happen to see this I have a question: do you know how knockdown works in HZD? I understand it in HFW, but I'm not sure how much transfers. I'm trying to avoid using the ropecaster, so I want to leverage the knockdown mechanic for crowd control. Do damage coils increase knockdown power? Thanks!
I am always checking comments, even if I’m not actively making videos! I believe damage coils should increase “knockdown power”. If I remember correctly, it’s all about doing damage to the right spots on various machines to achieve knockdown/stagger, and their movements play into effect here too. Admittedly, I haven’t played HZD in quite some time and this is one of my least researched mechanical subjects.
Lot of factors into that question. But basically, Striker and Powershot bows coil for Damage and handling. If you can’t max both stats, fiddle around with what you like for Damage / Handling balance. Don’t underestimate handling.

The fact that for two and a half games, Aloy has been so focused on solving whatever world ending threat looms over humanity that she didn't have time to learn how to properly socialize/really get to know her companions - let alone start a relationship with any one of them - is why the love connection with Seyka in the Burning Shores DLC feels so forced/unnecessary.
@@Psykko_ I have it (it came as a bundle with Forbidden West); but I won't be playing it myself. The plot for it sounds like an unimaginative rehash of Forbidden West's third act/final boss battle. Throwing in a love interest for Aloy (via Seyka - who is stunning when compared to any other female in the any of the games) just reminds me of so many shameless self insert fanfics I read back in my younger days, which just makes me want to play it even less.
@@madamefluffy4788 It was a dream to fight the horus, but I do feel like the dlc could have been done better. atleast you can reject seyka, but it still feels weird. wonder if they will add different romance options or something.
You can get 1 Pristine weapon coil per play through after completing “out of the forge” and the main story. Create a NG+ save file, then complete out of the forge and the main HZD story again, create NG+ save, rinse repeat!
I doubt that, HZD had “woke” themes and representation already, which I enjoyed. My issues with HFW don’t stem from ideological disagreements. My issues stem from GG/Sony creating a sequel to HZD that feels more like fan fiction than a professionally made sequel.
Hey there. I'm a bit late to the game. Thank you so much for the amazing video. I have a couple questions though. Just finished the game on ultra hard (not NG+) not knowing there was an achievement doing so in NG+. Anyway, as I watched your guide my jaw dropped since I haven't seen any damage like those of yours. The most I had was on fireclaws, hitting them on the belly container after freezing them which was around 1200+ damage. Does it go up in NG+? The other thing I noticed was how fast you could freeze the mobs. It takes full 12 freeze bombs sometimes a couple more with my shadow sling to freeze a fireclaw while it is fully coiled with freeze coils (+42% x2 and +40%). I gave up freeze arrows from my Banuk Champion Bow again fully coiled with freeze coils (+40% x2 and +38%) seeing how slow it builds up and fireclaws are no joke to me at this state. So I couldn't risk taking collosal damage while trying to freeze it bit by bit with freeze arrows. One last thing, you seem to do extremely well on aiming thunderjaws' heart area the eyes of the machines etc. How do u achieve this level of precision? Do you do anything special to be that accurate? Or is there a setting I may have missed? Cus even when I slow time when aiming I cannot be that accurate. That is probably on me since I'm don't count myself as skilled in games. Seems like I'm yet to learn some game mechanics that are not revealed to me so far cus it seems I am doing some things totally wrong. Thanks again.
I just recently got the Complete Edition on PC (amazing game) and most of the times I've stumbled upon Stalkers they didn't seem to be "out in the open" while Cloaked (which is annoying)... Thus far, I only found one (maybe two) areas where their proximity mines let you know they're around but other than that I only notice them because they are somewhat far and I get shot by their Dart gun or they eventually aren't far and give away their location when approaching me and once I did sneak up on two of them so they weren't cloaked but I think most of the time the buggers are both cloaked and hidden somewhere. I think between the beginning of The Bitter Climb and the Underequipped (?) Side Quest (where there's one Stalker relatively close to Nora territory that kills Dirid with the Dart gun) they aren't walking around letting me see their outline. They are a tad on the agile side too which makes it kind of a pain to hit them at times and they tend to run in packs (or are accompanied by other machines). I don't play the game on Hard (life is challenging enough so I don't play games looking for more punishment thanks) so I don't find them specially hard but god they are annoying (I find them more annoying than Glinthawks lol) I also noticed when I first killed a Stormbird (close to Dawn's Sentinel) after I Tearblasted all the engines on its wings (after tieing it with the ropecaster then pelting it with freeze arrows) it couldn't go airborne anymore (no wing flap wind blast attacks either) The second one (in The Bitter Climb) managed to vary its attacks more (I didn't have as much ammo for ropes and tearblast or freeze arrows) so I had to let it take flight a bit more and hit it with hardpoint arrows while tryng to dodge the windblast from the wing flap attack (it tried to hit me with the tailwhip twice but I had enough distance to dodge) I seem to have been getting a lot of duplicated mods (The purple mods I have are almost all elemental or tear aside from outfit weave mods) The only purple damage mods I've got are spear mods so not helpful for arrows
I am currently playing Frozen wilds and I noticed you haven't covered any of the bows you can get there. Any reason for that? Also, how do you get 400 damage per shot? I am happy when I get 100!
I cover 6 Frozen Wilds Weapons within this video. DLC weapons can be identified by the yellowish goldish border that surrounds the weapon icon. Hard-point Arrows/Icerail Ice Cannon/Precision Arrows/Rattler Bolts can do anywhere from 2x damage to 5x damage against Machine weakpoints. If the machine is frozen, the previously mentioned ammo types do 2x damage to weak points and 3x damage to the body of machines. Gotta watch this sometime. I prepared so long for Ultra Hard only to realize my weapons have been nerfed in this mode by the factor of 10 and I deal only damage of about 180 and have even no idea how I can get past the first Death Bringer. I thought it was going to be a breeze with my weapon setup.

Excellent tutorial, On my first play through on hard in late 2023 now and looking forward to forbidden West. I’m just at the part where I’ve gone back to mother and found out my back story so guess I’m near the end. I modded all my weapons last night and now need to redo them, I’ve never used handling and now feel educated on the matter 😂 Thank you 😊
Great video! If you don't mind, what do you use your adept striker bow for? You've coiled it to maximize damage and handling, but won't the hardpoint arrows still be inferior to a sharpshooter bow + precision arrows?
I use my Adept Striker Bow for most everything. I generally only use Sharpshooter/Precision for one shots or longer shots. I much prefer the high handling of the Striker for general combat use. Despite less damage per shot with the Striker Bow, I believe the higher handling allows for more shots overall with my play style especially mid combat.
I just don't understand why my tearblast arrows don't work on ultra hard. Why don't the Thunderjaws' disc launchers fall off when I hit them directly with 10 tearblast arrows? I started using ropecaster to tear off disclaunchers, since ropecasters stun the enemy, giving me ample time to tie down and tear off every component I don't want to deal with.

What armor setup do you use in this video? I have the Ultra Weave Armor and the Adept Protector Armor but I still get slaughtered on Ultra Hard New Game.
Let me get this straight (after 42 hours, doing every side quest, and currently losing myself in the Forzen Wilds and putting on hold the main storyline). Elemental damage basically multiplies the damage the piercing ammo inflicts? Cos as of this moment, I have barely used elemental and then the piercing ammo - just sticking to the piercing ammo and taking ages to kill Frostclaws, Thunderjaws, etc....
Freeze element effect/status Multiplies Pierce and blast damage types. No other elemental effect/status inherently multiplies Pierce and Blast damage types.

I understand your point about the Ropecaster but it can be very useful towards the stormbird, makes it easy to shoot the Freeze Canister, and because it has two Freeze Canisters you can take advantage of the free freeze state and kill it
I generally Freeze Stormbirds to bring them to the ground, takes two volleys from my bow on Ultra Hard. After Freezing a Stormbird mid-air, they will fall to the ground and be stunned momentarily. It’s fairly easy to kill a fallen Frozen Stormbird before it takes flight again. Ropecaster basically adds an extra step. You’re already aiming at the Stormbird, may as well freeze then kill the Stormbird Instead of Ropecaster -> freeze -> kill which takes more time and resources. I find the Ropecaster to be very overrated as their is generally other in game mechanics that solve combat problems better than the ropecaster. I do however understand that at times these mechanical solutions require more skill and game knowledge than most players obtain and are capable of producing. Which is one of the reasons why I make these videos, to help players feel more powerful as Aloy.
Elemental slings are not nearly as good as elemental bows for applying elemental effects and elemental bombs can’t take advantage of elemental weak points on machines. So no, I didn’t bother covering elemental slings. People are free to play how they like and use what they want, this video is merely my opinion based off my play style and preferences.
Rattler is best used on frozen targets. I was wondering why the Rattler seems to melt frozen shit, meanwhile my blast sling seems to need to stack quite a few bombs on things even when they're frozen.
Rattler Bolts do Pierce damage, which has a multiplier to frozen targets of 300% bonus to body and 200% bonus to weak points. Bombs do 25% bonus damage to frozen targets which is significantly less. I definitely prefer Bows to the Rattler, but if someone is going to use the Rattler they should absolutely take advantage of Freeze when possible.
Come back once you have finished the game and DLC. The information you seek will be more apparent and more relevant at that time. For now, enjoy the story, world and atmosphere!

Shouldn't medium daemonic machines have elemental resistances of 263 instead of 300? It seems that corrupted machines have 150% and daemonic machines have 175% of their standard variant. If this isn't the case, they seriously made too many exceptions here. Who's gonna keep all this in mind?
