My channel started as a place to keep videos that I didn't want to lose. Some are experimental, some are family related, some are just plain dumb. It wasn't until I stumbled upon Buckin Billy Ray Smith's channel that I realized I could help to spread a message of love, peace and kindness through my videos as well as document my life experiences. So the audience is slowing growing. My goal is to refine my cinematography and editing skills, but more than that, shift the focus away from trying to be perfect and allow the real Wayne Polcin to emerge. To not be afraid to take criticism as well as praise. The final goal being to leave a legacy of my life and of all the lives who have helped to shape mine! Thank you to all my subscribers - you are changing my life!
It's amazing the effect of lowering the bucket had on the root base. I was thinking back to lifting over your obstacles, where the logs are on the grade and the tractor was lacking traction.
At 11:31 you show taking those screws out. Mine don’t seem removable, yet the ones in my new lock (like the one you installed) won’t fit into my old striker plate, which I can’t remove unless I take the whole door frame off.
If you have the same part then they should be removable. The ones that came on my new latch didn’t fit my striker plate either, which is why I removed them and installed the ones from the old latch. I know that the screws are held in by a very strong thread locker, so you will need a lot of torque to break them free.
@@WaynePolcin thanks so much! Yes, I did get the new striker bolts out, having trouble getting the old ones out. This will be a life saver for me!!! TriMark suggested I call an RV technician. It’s really been days of frustration for me. Thank goodness I’m not boondocking somewhere 😳
After watching this video I have more appreciation for the work my husband does. He puts up pole sheds from time to time and says it's getting harder for him to work up high because he doesn't feel as secure as he used to......could be because he'll be turning 62 in a few days. Height didn't scare me 50 years ago....but now climbing a step stool is daring for me!!!!😅 Nice shed !!! I think ours is that size. 😊 Nice to see Maverick supervising the build for you too !!!
He's just a youngster, you cradle robber! I wish I were 62 again. Most people, myself included, are more afraid of heights as they get older. I have to psych myself up whenever I climb tall trees, especially when they don't have any limbs on them. I'm constantly checking my safety gear. It's not a bad thing. It's worse if you have no fear at all - you tend to get complacent and careless. But you will never see me doing what those amish guys were doing. I was amazed. Take care and stay kind, my friend!
Wow that was fast! Glad to see you got it up before the winter. I see Maverick helped too. Did he try to herd the boys at all? LOL Hug Suzie for me, I always enjoy seeing that smile of hers. Love you both!
Yep. Maverick tried to slow the men down, but I did my best to keep him clear. It was a surprise to have them show up three days early. Love to you too!
The bank is all shale and there is very little rain runoff on the bank, due to the rain gutters on the horse run-in. I may dig it out another foot or so. Someday, I may put some type of retaining wall back there, but for now it’s not an issue.
Loved it. Just look at all those hat equipment 😅. Sonja needs to watch this and then she’ll understand why it took so long to build my wood storage. 10 post holes dug by hand, takes just as long no matter how big the build above ground is😂.
That's exactly why Suzie wanted me to contract this out. She was there as I was digging all those holes for the cabin deck and horse run-in, and I was using a powered auger in both cases, but still, the layout out and placement took forever. When the builder said it might take two days, she was sold! The weather couldn't have been better timed. Tuesday was rain, except for that short spell of drizzle, while the radar showed rain all around us all day. And I thought I was good on my feet in the trees. Well these guys made the Flying Wallendas look like drunken sailors in comparison 😂😂😂
Good afternoon wayne the video is awesome thanks for including me and holmes lumber in it was glad to meet u and the wife. Take care of yourselves and enjoy the awesome barn that leon and his crew build you. Wonderful crew there at double L.
Hey Steve! Thanks for kind words. Suzie and I are real happy with the structure. At some point, we are going to talk to Holmes Lumber sales about building some oak cabinets to match the cabinetry we currently have. Stay safe out there on the road and I hope to see you again!
Have to admit, I cringed as I watched the untethered workers walking the beams and installing the roofing. 17 years as a quality control/safety inspector, I could only shake my head.... and keep watching.
One of my other subscribers, @moofdoggmike, is a safety sleuth too. His concern for my risky practices is probably the sole reason I'm still alive today. BTW, I got your check. I will be extremely shocked if that doesn't cover the shipping charges. I'm planning on sending your sassafras rounds next week. Take care, my friend!
NICE!! Just look at all the posts that Wayne could use to practice to keep his tree-climbing skills sharp! Structure will be great to keep your equipment under and a bit protected from the weather. Annnd, I hope you get cameras rolling when you string party lights and hold your first barn dance. Take care!
I like the barn dance idea 🤔??? My tree climbing skills got little use this season. People are just hanging on to their money and letting their tree care take a back seat.
Yep we got the rain you sent WP, thank you. Did you punk us on purpose to see if we noticed the reversed video at the beginning? nice trickery there! at the 21:41 mark I lost my mind!!!! yes I did look, and you know what they say "they always do it this way." yikes! Thank goodness you had the fine feathered inspectors roaming around to keep track of the progress. Nice size building WP, should suit all your needs for years to come. I'm going to take a liquid sedative now... hey to Suz the Q!..
Hey moofdogg. Hope the sedative helped to ease your anxiety. I asked those guys about their risky practices and you're right, they said they've done all their life and have not fallen. Whatever! I didn't intend to reverse the video in the beginning. I used my iphone in selfie mode instead of turning it around to use the rear facing camera. I was just being lazy that day.Suz-the-q says hi!
Congrats, looks great. Sure wish mine had gotten done that fast 😅. I still have a lot that needs to be done to "finish" it, but its sure nice having a structure to store and work on things in. Have a great weekend.
Hey Brett! Yeah, I needed this before winter hit. All this equipment is starting to show signs of weathering. It cost me some money, but it was well worth it. These guys are top notch! Take care my friend!
I discovered this when my late dog developed a cancer of blood vessels. THe tumors were bleeding non stop. This was a Godsend when he had heavy bleeding.
It's done! This was a crazy fun project. I really hope you enjoy this video. If you do, please hit the like button and leave a comment. If you're not a subscriber, it would make my day if you would hit the subscribe button and the notification bell. Stay kind!
Fantastic video Wayne. Best explanation I have ever seen about how this system works. Electrical engineer and RV owner here myself. I really appreciate the thorough explanation. Also love the words of kindness you talked about at the end of the video. Great Job!
You nailed it. It made sense at the time where you put the thing, but when you finally find it, you wonder why you put it there. Our egg count is going up again so I think it’s working. 🤞🤞
The suspense was killing me... i just know it will do the trick! Always amazed how you can make something so cool with the random "save for something" stuff you have! Love you
Ingenuity at its finest, the trick is remembering which tote you put those things that “I might need this some day”! In… need more totes! Hope it works as well as it seems it will WP. And if u think of it, send some rain this way to PA! We’re needing it bad. Hey to Suz the Q! Have a good one.
This device doesn't surprise. I expect of a guy who, years before the days of cupholders in cars and individual water bottles, put a jug, windshieldd washer pump, a switch, and a long hose together in his car to supply water as needed to a thirsty driver....just because he could. That alarm project is great!! Now, does it work to deter Maverick? Do you have other alarms to switch to as he becomes accustomed to that sound. Maybe just your recorded voice saying. "MAVERICK. NO!!" at a volume high enough to get his attention, not loud to shatter the night quiet, shocking you (or your wife, heaven forbid. Because wives always hear things we husbands don't) wide awake at 3 AM as he wanders for his mid-night snack and your breakfast. Hope it works well as it is.
Thank you for doing these videos. I received my new GE range and put in the LP orifices. The setting of the burner's and oven worried me a bit, especially here at 4500 foot altitude. Do you know what the size of the gas inlet is? I need to install a fuel line to the stove.
Ingenuity is the mother of something. I don't think this contraption qualifies as an invention, but you get the idea. I've had these parts and pieces lying around for many years. I always knew they would come in hand at some point. Take care friends. Stay kind!
Hey moofdogg. I wish I had some rain to send your way. It has been a long spell of drought for sure. On the tote front, I buy totes every time I visit Menards. My problem is not having any place to put the totes. I guess that’ll have to be another project. Great to hear from you brother! Take care!
So, this short popped up on my phone. Good that your awning has been rrplacrd. Big question: were you allowed to keep the shipping tube? Would hate to see something like that get tossed. There is always a use for them in a shop!
They asked me if I they could keep it to put the old hardware in for transport. So I assume I had the option to keep it. I just let them take it. But I had the same thought of how useful that might be at some point in my life.
It was created out of pure frustration and compassion. I want to save my hen, but the process was sloppy and difficult. I haven’t looked in line, but now that I’ve shown the idea, it’ll pop up all over I’m sure. Hope you enjoyed your coffee! 🤪🤪
awesome job WP... well done ... brings back memories of my stadia course in college ... a long time ago... all with a sight level, stadia stick, Pentel pencil and paper... a lot of geometry and class work to get it done in the old days. But hey, we don't ride horses any more to get... oh yea we do! Hey to Suz the Q! Have a good one!
Haha! Moofdogg! I’m sipping on coffee and enjoying a happy moment of reading comments from my awesome YT friends. There are some things I wish I would have learned in my youth. I would have loved being a surveyor. It’s just darned interesting, isn’t it? I missed an opportunity to buy a Dewalt transit level kit for $200. Just couldn’t justify the purchase even at that price. One of my upcoming projects is to locate and mark our property lines. I want to place markers at periodic intervals along those lines just to make them more obvious. As always, my friend, it’s great to hear from you. Suz-the-Q says howdy. Have an awesome day!
