Is anyone else looking this up because it popped up in Heardle 60s? It isn't even a song from the 60s is it?

This, in my opinion, is the absolute pinicle that song could possibly attain. Nobody, single or duo could possibly sing this song with the same "gusto" and intent and truthfulness that McDonald and Baldry

Yes.... my pal has been gone for 15 years now..... so wonderful to hear his voice as he sings the bookend to one of his original hits - all those many years ago, (search "Let the Heartaches Begin"). I hope you're among friends, and you're blowing the clouds around John William. See you down the road some day.

random question, but is this the version that appeared in the last season of the British TV series Butterflies? been looking for that version for ages, sounds live Elvis, but it isn't.

What a fine song! Know it from the Walker Brothers, but this one tops it, which is remarkable, cause i like that other version very much. Anyway, Thanks for another fine musical moment Long John!!!

She walked in all dressed in roses Italian shades and a book of poets Words spilled out and filled the room Like candy We were wild with nothin' to lose We raved on from black to blue But the sun came up and you had gone away You had gone away Hey, what do ya say Let's get lost again Like we did back then Hey, what do you say Do you remember when Let's get lost again Lost again Up and down on Williams street I walked the floor while the neighbors sleep And the skyline stays the same But something inside has changed Easy riders lost insiders Looking for a star to guide us It's the price you pay It never shines that way Never shines that way Hey, what do ya say Let's get lost again Like we did back then Hey, what do you say Do you remember when Let's get lost again Lost again When there's nothin' left to lose And you just keep dreamin' on And you just keep dreamin' on

Great song! CJ is way underrated. (The video sucks) I guess he would have become more well known if he was born south of the border. Every one of his 16 and counting studio albums are worth buying.

His first (solo) version was released in 1967. I respect the effort of the Righteous Brothers, but this version with Kathi McDonald is far better than any other ones.

Met Long John in a folk club in Chester 1966. Bought me a Scotch. He also played with the Hootchie Hootchie Men. Great performer

During with or without you, there was some extremely annoying clapping completely out of rhythm with the song. Unfair to the musicians onstage who have to try to block the terrible clapping out so they don't mess up.

Best version I've ever played on radio in my 38 years in the business. I miss John Baldry. He is the person, about whom, Elton John wrote the song "Someone saved my life tonight", after John Baldry talked Elton out of marrying a woman in the early 1970's, knowing Elton to be gay.

For me, definitely the best version of this song. The contrast in their voices works beautifully and the song makes more sense in this duet version! I listened to this non stop when I first bought it in 1980.

Hey just a mention, would Rod Stewart be the singer he is today, without this man, John Baldry? I had the great pleasure of seeing Rod at “Klooks Kleek” as a guest of the “The Steam Packet” At The Railway Hotel, West Hampstead, Next door to the Decca Studios. I will never forget it, Oh What A Night. Long John had just the most amazing Soul Voice. The venue was at the time, the hottest ticket in London.
