Thabkyou for this, ive spent hours and its 12.50 midnight here in australia and I want to know if this is going to be good for our upcoming holiday to hawaii. I think you may have smudged the lenses and havent cleaned them then the scratch has detrimentally declined the shot quality. But 100% agree these just arent there yet for how great they are being promoted. But i think il get it because as a ex professional photographer, i cant relax on holiday if i feel like im working and focusing on framing etc etc. I was also thinking the dji but for me its $1500 vs 800 for the x4. And didnt dji have all those problems with chinese apps or something and not being on the appstore? I mean i have no idea i only heard bit and pieces. Ah well just gotta win the lottery and have someone else worry about all the stuff and just film nice dtuff about vacations. Thanks for your video! Cheers from Brisbane Australia!
The Jitterbug revolutionized the phone industry. All the major manufacturers should be grateful the Jitterbug 2.0 was never released. It would have been the end for Apple and Samsung
@@Donny_B I got it at no cost from Del Boca Vista, my retirement home. The large buttons make it easier to call my grandson Jeffie and the pharmacy. I wish the speaker was louder since I have scoliosis. Thank you for the review young man!
@Knar_Kill what a small world! I used to know a Jeffie that worked at the Del Boca Vista Butternut Squash Farm! It's a shame what they were doing with those squash! Jeffie used to ride a mean Huffy. I guess after the accident it was more of a unicycle. He sure did leave an impression!
We need more videos like these, showing off the true nature of owning an X4. This is the problem with all the sponsored videos of the X4. They just talk about the pros. And not to mention that Insta360 have a great marketing campaign. I purchased an X4, and after a week decided to send it back. Not because I didn't like it, but because of the editing that is required after you've shot the footage. What noone tells you is that editing can be a PITA if you don't have a computer that can run the desktop Studio software properly. And indeed that goes for any video editing software when editing 8K/4K footage, I have a 2017 Dell XPS which works fine for photo editing, but it struggles with 8K video editing. So if Studio software lags and freezes, then the whole experience is ruined. I know the app is available too, but I didn't want to be restricted to just editing in the app especially when there is degradation in the video quality during export. So really, you need a pretty new computer to have a good editing experience on the computer. I always say, a product is only good as the sum of its parts, and the Studio editing software is part of that. And if that is a bad experience then you're not using the X4 to it's full potential. The other thing is, as good as the camera is with "set-and-forget" (because you can reframe later) nature, it just seems fragile. Yes the lens guards provided are there, but they are also prone to breaking easily. The concept of 360 cameras is amazing, there's no denying that: you can reframe after the fact etc atc, and your wife made a very good point about it. BUT none of the sponsored videos talk about the gripes, the annoying things etc. If the video quality was true 4K when reframed (as opposed to 2.7K) and the camera was more rugged, then the X4 would be a serious contender. But that would be at the detriment to poorer battery life and heating issues. The X4 is a cool camera with what it can achieve, but it does so with so many "buts" that it is just a hard sell for me.
For me, the S24 Ultra is better as a photophone and simply as a smartphone. The Pixel 9 Pro XL is not bad, it's even very good, but, as I always say and contrary to what people say and think, Pixels (also iPhone) do not necessarily have a natural colorimetry, they just have a constant colorimetry and white balance, very often pleasant , but not necessarily natural.
I agree. One UI has so many little features over vanilla android. Often times they are so small that I have a hard time expressing it. Like the double tap to lock your phone. It's just geared to be an efficient tool. The Pixel is by far a "smarter" phone. Especially when it comes to call screening or spam blocking in messages. I'm glad to be back on my S24U but I'd be lying if i said i didn't miss the Pixel. You can't go wrong with either one, but as far as photography goes the Samsung just looks better. Pixel goes hard on the processing. A comparison video is coming soon
@@Donny_B Seriously, Pixel-Experience is too empty, bland. The only feature of the Pixels that I would really like to have on my Galaxy is their excellent voice recognition for the speak to chat / text and the recorder. Otherwise, almost 80% of the rest of the Pixels' features can be emulated by other applications, and are mostly inactive outside the US and 2-3 countries.
had the pixel 1, pixel 3, went to Samsung S22 ultra, likely back to Pixel soon...I live in Asia... the translation is faster on the pixel compared to the Samsung for some reason
I agree. In the voice to text settings on the Samsung you can chose between Samsung and Google voice. Google is far more reliable. You would think they would be using the same software but it's just not the case. Samsung has always tried to do their own thing. I think they are finally starting to see the light and just letting Google handle the apps and software. They obviously have a good relationship and it works. Samsung handles Google's hardware and Google handles the software. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. If you were going to switch back to Pixel I think this one is the one to do it. It was a very painless transition.
Thank you. I couldn't have done it without her. Believe it or not it only took us 1 take. I like the folds too, but prefer the camera and S Pen on the Ultra. I was surprised to see they did not find a way to make it fit this go around. Of course when they do I'm sure you'll have to pay a premium.
Nice job brother. They both look good. I'd be curious as to the difference between the s23u and the s23u. In fact, now that I've got a paid-for s23u, I'm thinking about using it with a gimbal, turning off the stabilization on the phone, and shooting in Pro (which forces you to turn off all the auto features anyway? Then you'd lose many of the artifacts caused by the over-processing all cell phones do. As I'm partially color blind, I've always preferred the 'Samsung color pop' of their pics over the two iPhone Pros I've had (13 & 14).
P.S. Were price no object, I'd have a Pocket 3, an Insta360 for my motorcycle (though maybe a DJI Action 4), and then a Sony EV10 for everything else, like family shots, home studio, and tripod work.
Thanks brother! Yeah, paid off devices are nice. The 23U will do everything you need it to. Try out the Blackmagic app. It's perfect for what you're wanting. For the longest it only worked on Iphone but now it is for Samsung and Pixel. Gives you full control of your camera. Thanks again for the kind words and support! All that matters is that you press record. Cameras are just a way to do it
What a great phone! I'm genuinely going to miss it! It's going to Lawren so it's not really goodbye, more see you later, hahaha! Seriously, enjoyed daily driving the newest Pixel! Can u help me. We tried ours earlier. I xan locate the tag when it's within the house but when my husband took it with him while he went to a store (not even 10 KM, i couldn't see the location on the map or history. He has his phone with him. He even called to tell me where he is to see if I can see the location.
Then now, he left the tag in my car in the parking area of our aparrment. When I click navigate, it won't allow me saying I'm already in the same location and won't show history
As others have pointed out, in a month or so the trackers should work better once the "Find My Device" network has rolled out. The other thing though, as you mentioned, you're in a more rural area where there might not be any phone within Bluetooth range, so I'm not sure ANY tracker would've done better. It would be interesting to see that same test with a Samsung tracker.
Those were not released at the time I published this video. The Tilta was available for pre order. I reviewed what was available at the time. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment
TCM is available. From what I can tell only Godox and Profoto are the only ones that offer it. FStoppers just did a really good video series on both on camera and off camera flash. It's worth watching and Godox performed extremely well. Even beating Profoto in color accuracy and range. Flash duration went to the Profoto at full power but at lower settings the godox was at the top.
@@Donny_B I know TCM is available. The Xpro had a dedicated TCM button, but the XPro II and Nano make you select in the Settings menu the type of flash you want to use with TCM first. Not a deal breaker, but I think it's more cumbersome than it needs to be.
That's awesome it works with your Oneplus. I was told it would not work outside of Samsung but I never tried it. I should probably pin a comment. It's a nice ring. The more I wore it the more I liked it. I sent my size 11 back and ordered a 12. I've kinda missed it.
I'd love to see an update video in about a month or two when the network is fully available as Google is still in the middle of a staged rollout. Loads of phones don't have the update yet. Even in other countries some people have the updates and others don't.
@@Donny_B definitely hope it'll be good once it's fully released. I'm hoping by the time android 15 is out the find my update is baked in to 15 because chances of getting the actual update isn't happening anytime soon.
Weird. That happened on the last video as well. Not sure what I've changed but I'm trying to correct it. Thanks for pointing it out and thanks for watching
Thanks. Yeah, I noticed that. I'm tempted to fix it then upload again but wasn't sure if it was just my device or if it effected every one. Thanks for pointing it out! Sometimes I worry that I will never master audio. It has always been my weakness.
@LedZippo99 awesome! Thank you. This was the first time I tried the dialog leveler. I may should have but the volume a little bit. I always triple check that I'm around -10 to -12db going into camera and I also record 32bit float into a Zoom H4 Essential. I was using H4N Pro but recently switched for 32 bit. I'm slowly getting dialed. I appreciate the help
😊 Thank you! I was surprised at how well received this video was. I'm very grateful! It would not be possible without viewers like you giving your time to watch and comment. I'm glad you found it helpful!
Thanks for watching! It's a bummer that the Pebblebee did not perform as well as I expected. Maybe it will after an update. I'll keep a look out for any improvements. I really wanted it to be great. It may even be on the network end. Be sure to give a 👍 if you found it helpful and consider subscribing if you haven't already!
Hey good vid. The reasons why it didn't work is on this vid. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-vrwk7LhLcC8.htmlsi=Q2RGeSLuwJ8UVQRa Also I noticed with ur mic it feels like I can't put up the volume more. it's weird, like a monotone sound not monotone voice. Outside audio sounds better.
Subscription... Deal breaker! Too many subscriptions these days! I use mine alongside the Ultra Watch and it takes over whenever the watch is being charged or left behind.
Fantastic video. Thank you so much for this. Today I purchased this tag for tracking my lovely cat 🙀. He is usually around the house but if I don't know where he is I am panicking. So. I was worrying how to find him if... Thank you again. With this video you helped me a lot. 😘 By the way, your wife couldn't find better place 😂
Thank you so much for the kind words! It's comments like yours that really make it all worth it and I'm glad you were able to find the information you were looking for and more importantly a way to keep your baby safe! I'll let Lawren know that you approve 😊 She is my biggest asset when it comes to the channel...well besides viewers like you. Either way, I could not nor would not be able to do it without yall! Thanks again for the support and for your time! It does not go unnoticed!
If the wife left without her phone in that isolated location, you would never find the tracker. The battery was running out and you still had no chance of a Samsung passing by with the Smartthings application installed and working.
@@Donny_B not your fault, the seller swapped it for a different product entirely on the same link page before not restocking it at all. they'll do it again for another product as well.
Yeah....not sure what happened there. Mistakes were made but I learned from it. Thanks for the support and taking the time to watch and comment! Much appreciated!
Yeah, I get it. This channel is my excuse for even getting it, and honestly it doesn't even bring the views that it used to. But it's still cool tech and something I'm in to. I'm glad you noticed the smoke. I also picked up a rig for those spinning shots. That video will be soon. I love cameras and creating content about them so I try to have a balance of all of it. The word on the street is we will have a new Osmo Action at the end of the month. You already know I'm going to cover it. I've also been working on some cheap vs expensive filters videos. It's all editing. I can film every day, but the editing is what takes most my time. I appreciate you though and I really appreciate your time and comments. You are probably my most consistent member of the community!
Can you initiate recording through the transmitter? By this I mean: If I have a recording monitor attached to certain cameras via hdmi, I can tap record on the monitor and it will start recording both on the monitor and in camera. Does the wireless setup work with that functionality?
No, sorry. I don't believe that it does. Though it would be an awesome feature. I imagine that some of the higher priced transmitters do, this one in particular is pretty bare bones. Performance is great but feature packed it is not. But they had to keep the price down some how. Still a very good system for the money. Also, thanks for your time watching and commenting! 👍 I really appreciate it!
There is USB-C on both the reciever and transmitter. No micro usb on either one of the copies that I have. I have also powered them both via battery bank with a C to C cable. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment 😊
@@Donny_B My bad 😥 I was watching on the tv it looked smaller. I rewatched that part on a tablet. You’re correct ✅. Very embarrassing on my part. I got something similar it connects to Wi-Fi and beams the camera feed remotely to a tablet on an app. It’s called Accsoon SEE.
It's pretty cool they managed to fit so much tech in something so small. Hopefully the new products continue from Samsung. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment 😊
It's nice to see Samsung create something new! Let me know your thoughts below! Thanks for watching and don't forget to 👍 and subscribe ru-vid.com/show-UCxKtgafSIw1PiXf4lwSZChw
very nice review. I have been looking at maybe adding something like this to my gear as a small independent filmmaker, but the prices on some of them are ridiculous for us amateurs. This looks really interesting. Does the latency on it become a issue at all for monitoring or is it just something you get used to over time?
Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment. It is for sure worth having in your kit. I can name several things I've spent way more that have gone to waste but this is one thing I've found to be quite useful. As long as you are within a reasonable range and not trying to push it to its limits then the latency really isn't an issue. I mean, I would go trying to game on it or anything but for monitoring it's fine. Thanks again for your time and support. I hope this helps
I bet that is aggrevating. Sorry about that. Ive tried both earbuds and corded headphones and seem to get sound from both sides but the left does seem to be a little louder. But I will pay closer attention next time. Thanks for pointing it out and thanks for taking the time to watch and comment!
I really don't have much of an opinion on it other than what I've seen here on RU-vid. From what I here the battery life can be a bit tough. I know the R5 is a fantastic camera and I can only imagine that the cinema spec is just as great. It's also on the approved camera list for Netflix. That has to count for something. As far as lenses go. Of the ones I own and use, the 24-105mm is probably my most versatile. If I'm going in to blind to a location I will for sure take this one. But most of what I use is adapted older EF glass without any issues.
I love it. The bigger sensor is a HUGE improvement. Because of my wrist tattoo I was forced to wear my watch lower than I would prefer. But now it's right where it should be without failing a heart rate reading.
I agree! Usually the upgrades from year to year have been nominal, but this year has been pretty significant. I feel like every metric has improved. Good to know about the tattoos also. I appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment!
Never used a monitor recorder before so know nothing about them , could I use my camera as normal to be taking still images through the viewfinder whilst the monitor is recording video of what I am shooting with the camera ?
Absolutely! I'm a photographer first, not a filmmaker and I was looking for a way to record my viewfinder. It works great for photos but there is a downside. Not sure if it is all cameras or just Canon, but it does not support playback to review images
@@Donny_B Thanks for the prompt reply , thats what I was hoipng but someone else said everytime you take a still shot the video jumps so you shoot a burst of say a bird in flight and it would make that time on the video unusable ?
