Diamonds aren't costly and they're not rare, they're just controlled by de beers or however it's spelled. They literally buy up the world's diamond supply hoard it away in a giant warehouse and only release a few every year to keep the price high on something that's not that rare. They also came up with the iconic catch phrase diamonds are a girl's best friend, to sell more diamonds because women would want them more. Stupidity
I disagree, a stone that comes out of lava, is indestructible and sparkles and is hard to find and goes through that entire process is definitely precious. Diamonds are a girls best friend, they just captured and found a slogan because me and all my female cousins and friends love diamonds. They are beautiful. I personally love all sorts of Rocks.
It's still unique due to its history. but If i'm not wrong it was donated to a museum. These were diamonds that were sold in private auctions. I will be making a short on the hope diamond soon as well
