I can’t believe this actually worked but it did. I’ve been struggling with this thing for 2 seasons now. Bought the part today and sure enough. Started second pull ice cold. Thanks again.
I think they were asking about the spring. Yours came off easily because the belt jumped. How would you take the spring off the peg if the belt was still attached? My belt is looking ratty, and I'd like to swap it out before it breaks. Thank you for the video!
This was a total life saver! Thank you! As a 61 yr old widow, I have 25 acres to maintain, and I have always struggled when the belt randomly comes off. This was a breeze!
I bet its the spring, since it just pops off now and then although I rarely hit anything. The belt looks fine, unless it stretches with no signs of wear. @@brewersblade4887
Thanks for the vid! Mine has been in the shop 3 or 4 times. Over a $1000 in this stupid thing now with parts and labor, nothing was under warranty for us I guess. Just ordered that part number that you shared and I'm $50.01 out the door with shipping. Looking forward to hopefully being able to use this thing on a consistent basis.
From day 1 same issue. Engineer who made this should be fired, all engineers intentionally making garbage so ppl switch to electric crap. Same goes for cars, trucks, submarines
The Gravleys have an automatic tensioner for the belts. But overall no issue with belts it just so happened to get a stick jammed in there that caused it to jump off.
Don’t know how that would change it from a starting problem ? I have problems with mine too ! Even when warm I have to start it with the choke on or will not start ! Pain in the ass !
Robert I understand your pain! I’d say the overall point to the switch is the fact that it simply just makes an easier/faster start. The side start recoil system in my opinion doesn’t seem to turn over the piston as much as it should or at least over time it ends up that way. I feel you get way more of a revolution on the regular recoil pull than the side start.
Wow thanks for that video I love everything about this blower except the side pull just like you I loved it at first but it became a pain to the point I was going to sell it also but now I will try this thanks again
Yes I did say in the video it was in the shop about 3 times. I change plugs, air filter and adjust the valves in addition to having it in the shop. This is just not a very good design in my opinion.
I also properly maintain all my equipment I am owner operator and I am religious about maintenance my equipment but this side pul is just too inconsistent for me thanks again
Thanks for validating me! I never have issues starting any of my stihl professional equipment, but this is pain in the ass! I’m not happy with spending another 70 bucks. 😒
Did you watch the full video? I did touch on that. I got it and it worked for a while but I have had 2 different side start recoils and none of them fixed the issue. Had it in the shop many times. I have seen many others with the same problem. This was the most cost effective way to fix it.
Haha I started this RU-vid a few years ago and just keep so busy that I forget to make content. But I’m thinking about doing more equipment reviews and and yea more how toos!
