Interesting. Early Phyllis Diller. Within a couple of years she tightened the rhythm, quadrupled the jokes per minute, lessened the pantomime, transformed the costume, saved the laugh for punctuation, and owned the stage.
You never get a second chance to make a first impression...and I remember the first time I saw her perform! It was magical-what a beautiful soul with a brilliant comedic mind!!!❤

She was so great.. .and so smart.. and so fast... and so talented. A great writer.. a concert pianist.. a great cook.. an artist.. brilliant in stage direction.. in lighting.. She just knew her stuff. And was amazingly nice, to boot. We won't see the likes of Ms. Diller pass this way anytime soon. A true American original.
