Thanks! And yeah I didn’t really show it, but I was kinda disappointed as to how similar she felt to the base fight. But hey! That gear did help out Abu~G when it came time to face Fatalis for mounting, so it was still a worthwhile side quest! And don’t worry: Next week y’all will get a proper update on the last couple of videos for this series. Only 4 videos left! I’ve been making these videos for almost 2 years now, so even I’m still trying to wrap my head around the fact this is the end😭
Yeah, I always believed Ancient Leshen and regular Leshen to be about the same monster, so I didn’t bother doing this one back in HR. But man even with MR Gear….I KNEW this would be another “No Remose, No Surrender” moment with Teostra and Lunastra😅
@@johnbarrett6238 Thank you! ☺️ My playthrough of this game has been 80% solo, so when it came time to introduce my friends into the series for the endgame hunts, I wanted to bring them in the best way I knew how. Glad it payed off!❤️
Before MR was a thing, I have seen someone solo him in HR with an IG. I see you guys got my hint on what weapons to bring. Weak to fire and poison. You can build some of the coolest dual blades from him. One of my favorite monsters to fight, and I will come back and beat him solo with the Witcher sword and shield. Took my team to have our third join us to beat him. Nearly did it with just 2.
Oh right you did remind us about that😅I just remember the Witcher giving us a Runestone “in case the leshen ever returned”, so I just doubled down on fire because of that. Oh nice he has Dual Blades! Perhaps I’ll look them up and see if they’re worth bringing up to MR because there’s still a few hunts we need to wrap up before this journey ends. In the home stretch now. 5 more episodes until it’s over! Also random but how are you feeling about Wilds IG? I know there’s a lot of QoL added to the weapon like seeing extract points on the monster and the kinsect mimicking your hunter’s movements but you also lost the helicopter so it really feels like a mixed bag for you guys.
I feel like the leshen could have fit in the monster hunter lore, say wyverian or humans who were corrupted by the elements of the first age and ever sinces ancient leshens are from the old age and young leshen are from New ages. Same with behemoth, he could have fit in as an alpha predator and, like kirin, classified as an elder dragon and hunted deviljho, bazelgeuse and rajangs for lunch and their variants for dinner. If only they were part of the lore.
I really like the Wyverian idea, especially since the Witcher himself had a pretty heartfelt conversation with the Botanist Wyverian in the event. I really just wanna learn more about that species in general though so we can stop getting comments like *Wyverians lay eggs* I do wonder how that’ll affect the lore overall however and how all that works on the legal side. I can see cross-lore explanations working for games under the same umbrella of Capcom like DMC, but outside I’m not sure how far they can push that.
@@gearyt2355 oh it already has😂Rip to those who live in Russia…it’s already blocked there😬But I’m not monetized anyway, so all of this is just for fun. I’m glad you enjoyed the video and Thank you for watching!
Ooh someone's done all their Master Rank optional missions to unlock this, good job! In case you haven't already, doing all the Low Rank & HR optionals gives you the rainbow dye (basically it shifts through colors on its own, but unfortunately the colors are a bit muted). Also great job with this mission itself!
@@justanotherLunny Yeah I heard about the optional quest for the rainbow dye. Although I never did it because a lot of the low rank quests are just gathering or egg quests, which I REALLY hate doing. Even the few gathering quests in MR were a drag for me so I just never did them😅I know there’s another one of these further up in MR though, so I’ll see if I get around to doing that one tho! And thank you! Glad you enjoyed it and as always I appreciate all your support on the series❤️
It felt quite nice when you did the quest and you see everyone wanting to praise you :). Unfortunately, it was not extending to gethering hub characters, as I was eager to see what Pub Lass had to say for... reasons. Anyways, have you heard there won't be helicoptering with Insect Glaive in Wilds? How does abug feel about it?
@@Zelgeist it WAS extended to Astera and The (second?) fleet research base! Didn’t figure that out until the game forces you to go back to Astera for the Fatalis mission so you’ll be hearing about this quest for literally the rest of the play through! Hard to believe there’s only 7 world videos left until this journey is over! I can’t promise I won’t get sentimental at the end, this series has been a constant in my life for almost 2 years now! But Wilds is right around the corner so one journey ends, another begins! And it’s definitely gonna be weird seeing IG without the helicopter attack. That’s *the* IG move, almost as iconic to SAED for CB! But I heard the reasoning is they want to double down on the realism approach world started and now that’s extending out to our hunter’s movesets. They also said that’s also why LS isn’t the counter weapon anymore, which only increases my chances of maining it in wilds even more!
@@Zelgeist Hi 👋 this abug to answer your question about not having the helicopter 🚁 attack in Wilds is going to be a bit of a challenge in adapting to that change, but as long as I can contribute a bit in the air/ mount attack ( had to really make sure my ground combat is still good) I’ll be alright with that and whenever the Demo is available for everyone else to play I be able to get more of a game plan before the game launches
This is a blast ! glad we got it done and Tom with I'm so paralyzed ! Also the freeze frame parts were very good as well. your editing is fire as always !
@@abug7263 Glad you were able to join me along for it👍🏾And thanks! Those paralysis procs definitely came in handy in a quest like this where it’s more of a test of endurance😅But happy to hear you enjoyed the TLDR version of that hour!
Hello, Sahlos. This is my new account, I'm the guy who previously commented that he was taking a break form a social media for some time. For RU-vid specifically, I decided to start fresh. This time around I'll be smarter and curate cotent I watch and interract with more visely. Now, for the weapons, two things. First, I gotta agree with you about Dual Blades, in that its presentation was the best. They really looked cool, I have to admit that! It's not going to be my main weapon though, as I don't think it works well with my preferred style. Before even seeing Gunlance preview, I decided I'll be going with Gunlace for Wilds, at the very least as far as first time clearing main quests goes. Gunlance looks fun to me and I realized that armor skills I would need work also well with my main weapon - HBG. Seemed like a perfect pair for first time clearing the game. Also, I do like resource management aspect for bowguns, it makes the playthrough slower, but also more interesting.
@@Zelgeist Good to see you’re back! That’s totally understandable with the new account though. I’ve considered doing the same with this account a few times, specifically when I rebranded to Sahlos, but I just feel too connected to this account, as I’ve had it since middle school😅I’m a sentimental fool lol Actually what is your preferred hunting style? I take on a Kobra Kai mindset: strike first, strike hard, no mercy lol. But yeah everyone is hoping on Gunlance now after that showing🤣I can’t blame them though, it looks super interesting and like it was reworked from the ground up. However the hipster in me kinda doesn’t wanna use it now that everyone has their eyes on it now. I even went as far to make a Gunlance build in IB and have been practicing with it against tempered monsters. But we’ll see. Also I’m glad you chose to keep me in your circle of people to keep an eye on. Your support goes a long way and I always enjoy reading your comments❤️
@@Sahlos My playstyle... I like it a bit slower and more methodical. As result, I tried to use HBG, Great Sword, Hammer, Charge Blade. There is an exception in form of IG and some SnS. I also try to learn Hunting Horn, but with limited results so far. And yeah, still subscribed to you. I like to listen to your thoughts
@@MrMario9002 more like just a filler game: We actually got the win on Saturday! 40-ish attempts altogether so that won’t be out for A WHILE! Let alone the Alatreon hunt….but I’m planning on giving a debrief video on how it went similar to how i did with Alatreon so you can look forward to that! And yeah I’ve always wanted to try a Hoyoverse game but the other two have so much content in them now it’s a little intimidating on knowing where to start. So when I saw this one, it was a fresh slate and jumped right on it! At the bare minimum it’ll be a good time passer while we wait for wilds.
Thanks! The grande finale draws closer, so starting to subtlety build up to the last little bit of this journey. And it’s a pleasure to have you back👍🏾
Me anxiously waiting for the Charge Blade showcase in Wilds hoping it’s more akin to World CB and not Rise CB. Very situations like this is why I value the versatility world CB had to offer whereas Rise was more about how many SAED’s can you dish out in one hunt?
@@PANNARALEJNothing is guaranteed of course but Nomora did comment during the Wilds reveal trailer with a remark along the lines of “It’s been a while since Behemoth has been in a Monster Hunter game, hasn’t it?” And that immediately sent Twitter in an uproar. It could always be a throwaway comment or him just doing a bit of trolling however…..
I actually didn’t mean for this to be a formal guide. It was to help a friend and it just kinda worked out this way so it was specifically catered towards his personal needs😅 How far are you in the game? At the very beginning you probably won’t have all of these options. The smithy opens up more as you progress through the game, so that could be a problem as to why you can’t follow this video. At this point I was at the end of High Rank (after you slay Nergigante)
@@pervysage5465 That’s understandable man, I feel like that’s necessary to do every once in a while. Regardless, I always appreciate all of your support on the channel and I’ll see you when you get back! (And hopefully you’ll return to lots of Wilds news!)
Rise has artificial difficulty, not legitimate difficulty like the older monster hunter games and many other games that can easily be listed. Rise ups the difficulty by simply increasing numbers, which is not a fun or balanced way to do such a thing
when it comes to anomaly monsters 100% agree. I even go as far to say the anomaly grind is the worst endgame system of any video game I’ve ever played. But monsters like this one really are designed around how mobile our hunters are. For example, in this very clip, I died because I didn’t respond fast enough to his immediate follow up. In literally any other MH game, that would be a straight up unfair attack given how little time you have to respond, but because of the wire bug, it’s more of how much you’ve mastered the mechanic that gives it it’s difficulty. That’s just one specific example, but I feel like a lot of the Sunbreak monsters have moves designed in this way. That’s just my take though, difficulty is always going to be a subjective topic.
@@Sahlos honestly the wire bugs aren't fun in my opinion either. It feels weird, and doesn't respond how you'd expect it to. Not only that, but the spiribirds are the worst thing ever added to monster hunter, no debate. I love that you took the time to be respectful about this and appreciate you not getting defensive about a game you love, a lot of people who have played rise first or like it the most tend to get defensive over it so I was expecting insults or a fight
@@Sahlos anyways, I do agree that the monster movement was accommodated for the hunter's increased movement, but it just wasn't done right. The monsters were proportionate made too much faster, while the hunter controls worked semi-well at best, and not consistently at all in my experience
@@zan6102 And that’s valid. I feel like your enjoyment of Rise is solely dependent on how you feel on the wirebug. Because like the clutch claw of world, it’s basically mandatory to use in every hunt or else you run the risk of putting yourself in unwinnable situations. That’s why I’m fine with the wirebug being removed in wilds. I just hope it can be re-implemented in a future installment as a spiritual successor like hunter arts from generations did with switch skills in Rise. And of course! I don’t get defensive about it because after going and playing 4U, GU, World and soon to be 3U, I see both sides of the fence. Honestly the entire reason I went back to Rise with my friends is to make a discussion video comparing the flagships of each game’s DLC, Velkhana and Malzeno if you care to stick around for that video coming this weekend. If not I always enjoy hearing people’s thoughts on the various games in the series! Were all just biding our time until wilds comes out next year anyways lol
@@Sahlos try GU, 100%! It's my favorite out of the entire series, and I've played every game except stories! It perfectly encompasses what makes old MH great, while adding fluid and fast combat that's common in the newer games. Anyways, I'm personally disappointed with the successor to hunter arts, but overall they aren't bad, it's just lackluster compared to the flashy and satisfying hunter arts they tried to replicate. In short, the original system was better, but the new one is good enough to not complain. I see the direction rise is headed, and it will definitely ease new players into the series, but it will also make it nearly impossible to switch to older games like 4U fluidly, considering the stark contrast. Every game before world, you could go from any installment to another because it remained similar enough to translate. Now, a lot of new fans are stuck in the 5th gen because 4th and older are too complicated, annoying, or slow, while old fans are stuck in the past because the new games are too fast, not responsive enough, or otherwise not as enjoyable to them as the older ones. I hope they keep the older playstyle as a spin-off series or something similar
Getting tail cut with a AoT move was impressive. Next up you are going to get a kill with one, right?? Best of luck if you haven't completed Muscle Monkey Madness yet. .....and the Ancient Leshen back in HR. (I know he is just a HR, but he gives MR elder dragons a run for their zenny.)
I think the only other time that’s happened is with Savage Deviljho? But killing Fatalis with an AoT….now there’s a thought 🤔 And we actually have done this already! It won’t be out for a while but yeah. I’ll just say we did not beat Ancient Leshen cartless and we very quickly understood we were gonna have to actually try against this boss😅
Oh. I guess that could be viewed as a win in that regard😅Namielle sure appreciates not eating a wall, I can say that much at least I honestly thought I would hate the Safi Armor since I didn’t really vibe with Gaismagorn’s armor in Rise but it just feels sooo much better. Especially with a health augment, sometimes I’m just straight up healing not only the self inflicted danage, but damage taken by the monsters as well. And thank you! Glad you enjoyed it!😊
Glad to see I’m still improving on this format on videos! And thank you, it’s literally just a race to the end now and Baryon Mode will ensure we get there👍🏾
Congrats, you have unlocked KCM2! I like the edits, wouldn't mind seeing such videos more often. Also, I didn't expect a face reveal, that surprised me! And about your layered armor thing, I guess the hat you choose because of some sort of expectation you had for Fulgur Anjanath, the way you nicknamed it Shin Godzilla and all... And if each layered armor was to reference part of your World journey, then I am surprised I see no Velkhana in there. I still remember that nerdgasm at the beginning of the actual hunt :P
@@pervysage5465 Good to know! I’m not always in a super chatty mood, so if this style works I’ll definitely keep that in mind for Wilds! Also yeah I’ve done a few reveals in my videos here and there, but I realized they were group photos and I never indicated which one was me😅Most of my reveals are over on IG, so since our entire hunting group met up irl a couple of months back, figured might as well. Actually not bad guesses! You definitely got Anja from the brief period he was my punching bag and still probably one of my favorite sub species I’ve seen so far. And let’s just say Velkhana has *another* piece of armor I haven’t quite gotten yet, so that’s why it’s not present. Really wanted to use Namielle in here as well, but it just didn’t mesh well sadly.
