Okay, I have been thinking about it . Also this will be my first time reloading… after I can’t buy any real 6mm Remington rifle ammo. This has made me think about reloading and since you said, if I’m thinking about it pull the trigger do it, I’m going to do it 😊

This may seem like an odd question, would you feel comfortable with this firearm in an apocalyptic scenario, knowing that you’d have to confirm zero every time you checked for rust. I know that seems like a very anal and particular question. My OCD has been going nuts, apologies. I really like the nDLC but am hesitant on the reliability/toughness of the blueing. Thank you very much for the insight!
@qxinstrapped in that scenario, the last thing you are going to be worried about is a little surface rust under an optic. I would not be taking it off.
I’m actually about to order this very same barrel. I too was thinking the finish of barrel was going to be super shiny/polished. Glad to see it’s matte. I can’t wait for mine! Can’t wait to see future videos on this

@@dreamit.buildit7S is fantastic and extremely low profile, great to pair with a magnifier. Has a weird and somewhat distracting halo that appears when the dot is turned up. The full-size 7 doesn’t have this issue from what I’ve seen but to me that’s what the extra money the 7 costs gets you. Better overall optic.
I just ordered mine Can’t wait. Seems like this one was the best starter for a rugged use. I’ll get the eotech later down the line but it’ll take awhile.
It is a great shooter but it does get frustrating when looking for aftermarket stocks. Not even a fraction of the support Remington 700 pattern rifles have.
Very nice press stand, and very well made. I am trying to figure out how to make a wood stand for a manual powder measure. This is kind of a different problem, because there has to be a lot of room under the powder measure for holding a tray of cases to drop powder into. Would be great to see your thoughts on making a powder measure stand.
Hey John. I will give it some thought. Currently I have a rcbs powder drop stand that is bolted to a plywood base. It is able to hang up out of the way on my French cleat wall when not in use and it clamps down to my table like the reloading press stand. I will work on an idea for a wood stand though.
This kit will absolutely work for handgun and rifle rounds. I would suggest buying the Lyman shell holder kit as well. It comes with all the very commonly used shell holders and they work with the Lyman hand primer.
Great video. I new to reloading. I did purchase lyman ultimate reloading press. Trying to get a nice die set for 9mm, 6.5 credmore and 556. Any suggestions or help with be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Don’t be afraid to use Lee dies if you’re on a tight budget. If you have money to spend then a set of carbide dies for 9mm would be a good choice. 6.5 and 556 if precision is your goal Redding and Forster are great. Hope that is helpful.
@cerciztopulli1065 I have never used one, I would just use RU-vid reviews and reviews from reputable sights. I have only the brands I mentioned before.
Hopefully some others will help answer this question too. Pickup the book “the abc’s of reloading” and read it first. It is a great place to start. Also treat reloading with respect and your full attention, it can be dangerous if you make mistakes. Hope that is helpful.
@@dreamit.buildit perhaps you'll have to file the plunger ejector down as well? or send it back to savage. Is yours a 6.5CM? I can't remember if you mentioned it in the video.
@dreamit.buildit From my understanding, the 6.5 CM rifles seem to have this issue the most. No idea why anything else in .308 parent case wouldn't, too. It's very bizarre to have things be so consistently wrong in a specific cartidge...albeit other calibers also have the same issue many times with the 110's. And something that a rifle shouldn't be experiencing after so many years of basic reproduction. Then again, Ford can't make a reliable door lock for an F150. Either way, rifles aren't cheap, and it's ultimately Savage who should do the work to begin with, imo. Hope things get better for you. Thanks for your time, and for making the video.
