I recently watched a few live shows on You Tube. They seem to have loads of energy and are pretty good. They do deserve a higher profile. I like the grumpy old guys with attitude thing, being 64 myself
I'm sorry, but all those keyboard warriors slagging Harvey off just because it's so easy to do have no idea about what he done for hundreds of bands over the last 40 years. He's been the single most important promoter in Britain. And, no, I'm not related to him.
I go n see Saxon live every year-gig rammed kids /oldies/pensioners. This programme was shite. 2024 Saxon Leeds-on fire. Fuck off Goldsmith you know fuck all about Saxon.
Harvey is everything that is wrong with the music industry. He is just full of 💩 and hasn’t the first clue about Saxon or what they’re about. Where was he in 79 when the dam began to burst… He has no concept of what these bands are doing.
Funniest part about this is how wrong Harvey was I was only 1 when this documentary was filmed and i just saw Saxon 2 nights ago and they were as fantastic as ever! I have been a fan for years and for him to be giving them shit over not having a young audience is just plain hilarious!!(Considering its 15 years later!) Just shows how right Biff and the boys were 🤣🤘
Way back in the early 80s I was in a record store ( remember those?) and I saw an album “Saxon Crusader “ and thus began my love of this group. Got all their albums over the years
If I was them - at 2-0 down - aiming for the record air guitar (so not necessarily having to play the new single) I'd have gone for 'Never Surrender'. . just may 2 cents - many may disagree
Thanks for uploading!!! Additional clarification on the previous comments I'm reading here. This one has Paul Di'Anno on it (1978). If you want to hear the previous front man Dennis Wilcock, search "Iron Maiden - 1977 Tapes (The Dennis Wilcock Days) [Full Bootleg Album]" I'm listening to both.
There is a big difference between Saxon and Iron Maiden or Metallica: Saxon is still producing outstanding new tracks and albums, they never stopped while Iron Maiden and Metallica or AC/DC or Judas Priest or a lot of other old metal bands live from their past but stopped producing good new tracks, they are burned out. In fact, Saxon are even more outstanding because of their continuous high quality song production that, as it seems, will never end...
I suspect so. Greene King is a common beer to see in Cambridge and environs, as the brewery is based in Bury St. Edmunds, not all that far away. The weather would match, too.
