You've probably figured it out by now but Hit Manual (should be somewhere on the right hand sight above the screen number), if you need to turn on the laser hit manual offset, move your head to the edge/start point, hit change manual mode (under where it says move only) until it says rip cut, and then pull the joystick in the direction you want to cut
