Football indents peaked at this moment - with that sweeping camera shot. That intro gave me goosebumps then and still does today. That's football history and heritage. Football IS England (and I'm Irish)!
The worst Liverpool performance I have ever seen, this match really signalled the end of Liverpool as a force in English football, the decline was in full flow. In the space of 6 months Liverpool went from brilliance to utter mediocrity.
A regular on the popside that season. Wright and Saunders legendary just a shame Maxwell had to screw it all up. As we used to chant "always look on the bright side of life"!
I love George Graham. I'm a Tottenham fan though, and he was a bit of a divided figure @ WHL. But that interview at the beginning, such a relaxed situation for George, he really had nothing to lose and along with everyone else - didn't expect the finale. COYS
I was the Arsenal mascot that day, at 15 years old and almost as tall as Paul Davis! 🤣 Gutted I missed the camera as I lead the team out the tunnel. Even more so at the colour of my hair 😱 for some silly reason I had tried to dye it on the morning of the game (which if my memory serves me correct was a Sunday when back in those days no shops opened) and it ended up coming out ginger!! 😂 no offence to gingers 😬 Had a great time meeting the players before and after this drab 0-0 stalemate 🙂
If you told Fergie back then - in period of next 23 years you’re going to win 13 league titles, 5 FA cups, 2 European cups and a cup winners cup do you think he’d have believed you?
I remember this season well. I supported man united back then and was heart broken when they lost this season. Great memories though watching this season with my dad. Love it
Me and my mate turned up with about 15 minutes till kick off, discovered it was an all ticket match, about to go home to Hertfordshire and was sold two tickets for North Bank by a sympathetic copper who'd just nabbed a ticket tout 😉
