Having recently stayed at this villa (July 2022) we thought we would write a review of it. There are very few places to review it so people can see them. This house is fantastic. As you look at it from the pool end the left side which is two storeys is the two sets of bedrooms with en-suites above each other (upper one has a balcony) which are excellent for family members with younger children. As you look at it from the pool end, the right side of the main house is the kitchen. There is also a single (en-suite)bedroom off the kitchen on ground floor. The three window room above the kitchen has external stairs which leads to a single bedroom (with fantastic views south and west) and en-suite. There is a two car garage with electric doors adjacent to the external stairs with a narrow passageway for a car to pass though to the north facing courtyard and the main entrance. If you look at the drone views there is a wee curved path at the end of the courtyard with a square solarium. This solarium is above the two bedroom suite (which has its own lounge, king en-suite and twin en-suite). It has an electric extending canopy over the main bedroom window and lounge window. Next door to this is the one bedroom (king) luxury suite with jacuzzi bath, huge bathroom and lounge. It has it’s own shaded area for afternoon sunbathing. Both these suites have electric sun shutters. The main house has tradition internal wooden shutters. The steps from the enclosed garden down to the pool area are quite deep and slippy when wet (especially in the morning after the sprinklers have been on) and most of us stumbled or fell on them (our party was aged, 2,5,6,8,15,15, 40sx6, 76,77) but you have the alternative method of walking out the other gate of the secure garden, down the driveway and follow a path around to the other side of the pool area (no steps) There is also a fulll bathroom with toilet underneath the south end of the pool and a large room that is empty. Also here there is the machine room for the pool (which is filled with blow up lilos, rubber rings, pool noodles and pool toys. Just ask Carlos if you need any. For a family group of 14 we needed three cars but there were only two clickers for the electrically controlled gates at the bottom of the driveway (first set, not the second ones) and we had to plan who was leaving first wasn’t coming back last (or put the clicker in the lock box) which was a bit of a nuisance but nothing major. Unfortunately the second clicker ran out of battery midweek! Soon sorted by Carlos M. The middle part of the house as you look at it from the pool is the lounge, internal dining room (never used!) and kitchen. The lean too verandah is in front of this with the upper part infront of the kitchen. The kitchen has a dishwasher, American fridge freezer with ice machine and cold water tap, electric over with 5 electric rings and two conventional ovens (not fan). Beware if you are using all the rings and both ovens (to cook for 14 this could be easily possible) the fuse can go on it. The fuse is located in the fuse cupboard outside the kitchen door (I’ve labelled it in French and English and is number 20, a big grey one). The kitchen also has a microwave oven/grill, a nespresso machine (given ten pods) and a percolator (but you need to bring your own paper filters (Aldi in town has them)). There is a small utility room off the kitchen with a Bosch washing machine. BYO washing powder or strips). To open some of the cupboards you need to be taller than 5ft 1 inches as granny was unable to reach any of the upper cupboard handles. Bless. The pool area is fantastic and benefits from an outside shower at the south end beside the Rules Notice. Also the BBQ area is there with a small sink beside it. All rooms have air conditioning. You can walk along the road past Casa da Montanha past Casa da Musica and onto an old track which will take you back to the switchback road just beside the Pink cottage on the main road you turn off to get into the villa. It is a 1.7 mile route but no footpath. In town there is an Aldi and Lidl with excellent variety of food and drink (even the €2.50 red and white wines were delicious) and is very cheap compared to the smaller supermercados nearer the coast. There is also a Continente somewhere but we never found it. Boliqueime has a lovely vibe but is a sleepy commuter town to Albufeira. We went to Arcos Cafe and Pizzeria in Boliquieme which was lovely and clean. Further afield we went to the 200m long Praia da Maria Louiza beach and the 4 mile long Praia da Falesia which although has 75 steps down to it was beautiful with dolphins jumping in the surf! Be there early to get a parking space (we arrived at 0800) but didn’t stay past 11am due to the intensity of the sun. We had 30 degrees centigrade all week with not one cloud in the sky. Just a fantastic holiday in an idyllic location.
