Nowadays, I do engine/car related videos, with other random content thrown in. I primarily work on my two 1999 Saturn SL's
This channel was originally created in January of 2019. My early videos were narrated by a squeaky 13-year-old that rambled about the most random stuff. I have taken down some of my older videos for several reasons. I want to preserve the history of the channel, so I left a few classic videos up. On January 13, 2024, I changed the channel name from Romeo Cat 128 to "RC128" for simplicity sake.
I run two other RU-vid Channels, both with many more subscribers than this one. Romeo Cat Computers was also created in 2019, and today has nearly 800 subscribers. It has videos about wireless/radio, electronics, electrical wiring, and computers. Brookings Rail Watch is my other channel, and it focuses on trains and railroad stuff. Romeo Cat 128 was the original channel.
This is a great video. I really enjoyed the background music, it wasn’t overpowering or sound like some lame generic dubstep. Your narration is Huey Long status. Thank you!
I had a 2000 SL2 and it was a fantastic car, especially after getting some quality sport tires. I seriously regret trading it in for my first Subaru WRX 20 years ago. Having AWD is nice, but weirdly I still enjoyed the Saturn a lot more as it had more low-end power and felt more nimble.
I sold Saturns for five years at Saturn of Gurnee in Illinois. They were good little cars. I had a sl2 with 180,000 miles and it was more reliable than my new Pontiac Gran Prix at the time. I drove past the abandoned Saturn dealership about 6 months ago. I pulled in and walked around the building a bit. It brought back a lot of good memories but was heartbreaking seeing the building in such disrepair now.
My dad bought his 1999 SL2 brand new from Saturn of Frederick, MD. It has around 106,000 on it and it has fallen apart a bit due to lack of maintenance. Now that I do these repairs, I will get around to bringing it back into good order. Anyway, I found the picture they took of him with his new car surrounded by Saturn employees. I like Saturn cars not only for their simplicity and reliability, but also because of the company that they were. He received letters from Saturn even after we moved to South Dakota, and they weren't spam; just friendly updates about what was going on with the company at the time. It was sad when I got to the latest letters from 2009 and 2010 where they had to break the news that they were going out of business. My dad was actualy considering buying a VUE but unfortunately waited too long. Oh and I forgot to mention in the video that this particular Saturn had about 212,000 on it. I also bought myself a 2000 SL2 a while back that I've been working on for a video. It isn't near ready yet but it's coming along. It has 166,000.
Do you know if the person who owns the cars in this yard sells Saturn parts from them? I'm looking for some hard-to-find items for my SL1 and L300. Thank you.
I think you can call them and order them to get a specific part, but it would cost more money. I would go to there website for more details. rohnersautoparts.com/
Nice to see that you are taking care of the car and it looks good clean. My car is 45 years old so many many things have been replaced over the years simply because of age and not functionality. Video of the car at my channel.
