I've done some endurance racing and it is totally different than sprint racing. Difficult to get all the riders to agree on machine set up. Riders vary in height and weight as well as having different riding style, preferring different geometry, control placement and engine character. I find endurance racing more stressful than running sprints on my own bike. You're always worrying about the other guy on the bike when you need to be resting for your next stint. It used to be you had to make changes to the bike to make it last but today's bikes are so reliable (partly due to advanced synthetic lubricants) that red lines only have to be marginally lowered. A race can be won or lost by pit stops and fuel mileage, another concern sprint racers don't have to deal with.
Best part is that it's still competitive!, Alot of racing series had that originally but due to vast differences in performance it was scraped for the sake of competitiveness
SERT, legendary team. Shame Suzuki dropped out of the sportsbike scene, created the 4 stroke race rep category with the 1985 gsxr750 and the first Japanese manufacturer to drop out of the segment !
That track should stay within the motorcycle races sports car races don't race at the type of track it's the traditional version of the 24 hours race in opinion. Good show though.😮😊
