As far as I know, you can't make the repeater items or container boxes clickable with CMS unfortunately. But you can make buttons, images, and text elements clickable.
so whats the difference between creating a website using custom templates to just using sites ive created 5 "templates" to sell on etsy and other sites like etsy for folks to buy should i have created those 5 sites using this method you explain here ? i hope not lol a lot of work went into these sites Thank you
You're welcome! It's a touch choice. Each platform has it's strength/weakness. I like Wix templates because the process is easy and you can sell Wix Studio and Wix Editor templates anywhere you want. But I can't speak for Squarespace or WordPress because I haven't ever tried selling one of their templates. Best of luck whatever you decide!
Yeah it's still new, but some have sold more than 20 already which is cool to see. I think it will continue to grow and get better, but you could always list the templates somewhere else as well.
You should be able to do that when you enable coding in Wix Studio. The link below talks about CSS styles and more. Hope that helps! dev.wix.com/docs/develop-websites/articles/coding-with-velo/overview/about-coding-with-wix-studio
I worked with webflow and could name classes, to make sure to have as less classes as possible. Do you have any idea how to keep classes simple and clean in wix studio?
Wix Studio has a whole code section where you can set your CSS styles, so I image you can also modify the classes. Here's a link to more information about coding in Wix Studio. Hope that helps! dev.wix.com/docs/develop-websites/articles/coding-with-velo/overview/about-coding-with-wix-studio
Hey thanks for the video! How did you make the menu slide in from the side for the phone format? Whenever I add a hamburger menu and I click on it my menu jumps right in with no animation.
That's a great question. I'm actually not sure how I got it to do that. I've tried a couple of things but haven't been able to figure it out yet. I'll let you know if I find the answer.
@@kdcmarketing2548 I ended up copy pasting the animated menu from a template. It's very odd, it looks like some menus just come with the animation built in and some don't. As of now I think that they did not add the option to choose a menu animation, at least not in a clear way. Thanks for the help though :) Very appreciated
@@ericktabellini1143 Great idea! Thanks for sharing. It is kind of odd that they don't have that functionality yet. Maybe that will be something they will update in the future. You're welcome! Happy to help where I can.
Thanks man! Glad you were able to find the videos. That's awesome! Congrats on you starting your own agency! Best of luck and let me know if there's anything I can do to help.
This is a great tutorial. May I ask - how does one change the format though so that it's 5 team members or talent (or product or whatever) across? Is there a way to edit that?
Yes, you can edit that in the repeater settings. You can select how many items show up on each row or column depending on the type of repeater you are using. It will be on the right hand side in the design panel.
Thanks so much for these series, very very very helpful, i wish you could rearrange also CMS in series so that we can follow in an organized way. Please 😢
Good video, one question, how do i setup an email notification when someone fills out the form? I have a client who uses this for collection resumes on a career page, another developer had set it up using the same method your showing, but i cant find where to add the business owners email address so they can get notified that a new resume has been submitted, is this possible? Thanks!
Yes, it is possible to set up a notification for your client each time a CMS form gets submitted. I cover how to set it up in another video. Here's a link to exact moment where I show how to do it. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-YCnL3bSpObk.htmlsi=TAvgtINRqZkrxPXM&t=1583
You have to be a Wix Partner at the icon level in order to be listed in the Wix Marketplace. The leads will be in the marketplace projects section in your marketplace tab of your workspace. You should also get email notifications when you get a new lead. Hope this helps!
You need 2,000 points to get to the Icon level. This link shows the different levels: support.wix.com/en/article/wix-studio-about-the-partner-program-levels-and-benefits And here is how you earn points: support.wix.com/en/article/wix-studio-earning-points-in-the-wix-partner-program The fastest way to get there is to build a lot of Wix Studio websites that have a premium plan. Each one gets you 300 points.
Seems like a lot of the Wix apps have low or average ratings. Have you had any problems with booking, events or restaurants app functionality with Wix?
I haven't tried the Events or Restaurant apps, so I can't speak to those. But I've had really good experiences with Wix bookings. It's the app that my clients use the most and I have one client that has billed over $100k with Wix bookings with no issues. But I have noticed the low or average ratings. Some apps are not the best and are missing some features, but most of them are pretty good.
Just saw the link to your course, question do you get clients who have aversions to using Wix? I'm dabbling in Studio (and still using Worpdress for projects) to have another option for easier builds but I'm wondering about the clients who've been given advise to stay away from Wix. Also do you get well paying Wix clients?
I don't usually get clients who have aversions to Wix. Most of them don't really care about the platform as much as the end result. But if they do mention they want to use Wordpress or some other platform, I go with their preference. I don't force them to use Wix if they don't want to. And as for the well playing clients, I think it depends on your business. Most of my Wix clients pay between $1,500-$4,000 for a website project, which is a price I'm happy with. But some businesses would see that as low paying projects. So it really just depends on your business. Hope that helps!
@@lokey416 You can add a dynamic section to any page as long as you add a dataset to it. But dynamic pages have built in capabilities that normal pages don't have. For example, if you add an item page to your site, then each item in your collection will populate dynamically once you design the page for one item. The SEO settings also work dynamically, so you can add dynamic fields for the title tag and meta description. There are other differences that I can't cover here, but I'll try to do a video about it soon. Hope that helps!
hello bro wonderful and helpful tutorial thanks a million. I notice that every time you click on the section button you have a prompt to choose a starting point (designed section, grid layout, add an element) witch is not like this on the default Wix Studio, how do i also enable it to be like yours?
Thanks! Glad you liked the tutorial. I actually don't know how that got enabled. It just showed up one day. My guess is that they are rolling that out to all users soon, but doing a phased release to gather feedback.
This was super helpful. I have a question about users editing their data after they submit a form. Is it possible using the site membership feature to build a section were they can submit new entries to a database and also edit or update their submissions? I'm trying to build a membership directory site of local service providers. They need a profile page with the ability add their services and edit them. Thanks!
Great question! The short answer is you might be able to, but I'm not sure. I do know that you can edit the collection settings to allow site members to view, add, update, or delete content. You just go to your collections, then more actions, then permissions & privacy. Then you select what members can and can't do. However, I haven't ever tested this so I'm not exactly sure how it works. But it seems like it might be possible. I'll have to try this sometime.
@@kdcmarketing2548 thanks for that info. I've been build a site in Duda, if you've heard that one. But wix studio might be better suited for what I'm doing. I'm interested in your Wix Studio course to get me started. I still find their interface to be a bit confusing.
Sorry for the slow reply. I haven't heard of Duda before, but I know there are a lot of good website builders out there. Glad to hear you're interested in the course! The interface is a bit confusing but the course helps to address that.
