Terrible truth with the series ending with Logan movie is the humanity was shown a better path and result was just choosing to go about mutant genocide through more insidious methods with putting chemicals into food to prevent mutant births. Thus Magneto was indeed correct, Charles was just unwilling to accept it
We can do it, as a people as a planet. We can rise to our best versions; above our most difficult moments. "Logical Empathy" oVer "Convenient indifference"
This scene has a profound impact on me. Years ago, i was going through a low period, for a time, i had everything, but then suddenly, i had almost nothing. Life didn't mean much. Living was kinda pointless. But as i was seeing this scene, i felt like my future version is putting his hands on my shoulder, saying I have a long way to go, and I will go a long way, as long as I want to. Many years later, i have everything the old me wanted. But there's a long way to go. And again, the path ahead seems bleek. But this scene reminds me of the past, that i have somehow endured, and maybe, i can endure more. Maybe one day i will look at this comment again, and be glad that I hoped, again. I hope, you will be able to hope, again, fellow traveller. We have a journey to make.
"Just because someone stumbles, loses their way, doesn't mean they're lost forever" seems very similar to a Tolkien quote... "All that is gold does not glitter, not all those who wander are lost; the old that is strong does not wither, deep roots are not reached by the frost."
I remember watching this for the first time to really get my mind off what was happening at the moment. Depression, anxiety, real dark thoughts, etc. I can’t think back and remember much of the time but this one scene came out of nowhere and changed my perspective. The battle ahead was a a long one and hard fought but this put me on a good path. To bare this pain, ACCEPT this pain, and as well to seek help and guidance from others. Great bit in this movie.
1:37 I like old Xavier´s speech a lot. 1:46 I like this line a lot because it would usually be reserved for the villain, "The pain will make you stronger". But Charles Xavier greatest gift is his empathy. He´s such a gentle person.
“It’s the greatest gift we have. To bear their pain without breaking.” This makes me think of all of us who are facing generations and generations of pain. Healing patterns from our ancestors and stopping the cycle.
When he replied to hank saying the power was back on and he said yes it is he wasn't talking about cerebro he was talking about him his own power not his mutation but his power of hope and confidence
This scene is my daily therapy. It's just different, brings a chill down my spine. The moment when there's a subtle crossfade of Charles looking at his students in just so pure, it just shows how optimistic he has become seeing all these good mutants around him.
what is truly sad but also deeply inspiring is that future Charles experienced all of that positivity, that optimism...only to have it taken away from him through unimaginable and violent acts of cruelty and hatred and despite all of that...he is urging his younger self to continue believing in that hope and that dream
I know a lot of you are here after Dr Strange.. but take a moment and read the comments of those before it. Some of them are true survivors. True heroes.
loved that they included the "just because" quote in multiverse, which to me that was a small little tribute from marvel to the fox film series, giving closure to a sometimes controversial but not entirely bad at all x-men film series that alot of us came up on over the years. 🥺😫😢💯
We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our hope - Romans 5
