14:48 - 15:39 I know it has nothing to do with Trolls but I will say that his thoughts on Viva should’ve been more focused than the brothers is definitely something what I now think about the first Beetlejuice movie. After rewatching it along with the cartoons, I realized that the first movie should’ve focused more on BJ and Lydia instead of Adam and Barbara. Like he said about Viva, this could have been a great opportunity of how they actually became friends before first setting up the franchise and could’ve helped the audience to emotionally connect with BJ and Lydia friendship during their horror adventures on a greater level just like the cartoon and musical. But that’s not what the first movie wanted to do (or supposedly). In fact giving BJ like 15 mins of screen time along with not developing his relationship with Lydia while manipulating her and more focus on the boring main characters, Adam and Barbara was kinda laughably pointless and it only provides the movie a arrange marriage climax. But hopefully the sequel should at least fixed that problem.
I came here after toxic work environment that is Across The Spider-Verse's production and honestly there's a reason why Disney and Lucasfilm fired them.
When i saw this as a kid, all i know there was a orange plane does a bunch of stuff. As now, all i hear is that this movie is really bad, but you explained this movie very well.
Alicorn was like in his video of the remaining worlds of Kingdom Hearts said no absolutely not keep this movie as far away as possible it’s even bad that Frollo was killed and never had a boss role and don’t make Sarousch into a boss he’s like the worst Disney villain ever bashing him with a keyblade would be awesome you know who I like to bash with a keyblade Frollo
I don't understand why people don't like this movie... Its a movie about a topic from our day: what people consider faimous( all shits just because they whant something new or wierd) and why anyone shouldn't change for others. Yeah, the humans characters are wierd, but is intentional maded, to understand that it doesn't matter how you look, is about what's inside... And the final was emotional, cz they never belived they will performe on that scene and that moment it feels like a real concert. 💚✌
One of the only downsides of being subscribed to Animat is that since this review is one of his most popular, every once in a while, I’ll have to be reminded this thing exists. Thanks a lot, Mat. I’m obviously joking, this is a great review and frankly you are much braver than me for actually being able to watch this travesty, but still, I could go the rest of my life perfectly happy without ever being reminded of this “film’s” existence.
I think it was a fine movie! Not the best but I enjoyed watching it with my mom after she wanted to see something cute. Thelma's singing voice is incredibly and without a doubt what makes the movie enjoyable. I do agree that some parts are cringey. I hated the cud song- But anyway, that's just my opinion and just wanted to share it after seeing so many people shit on it.
4:14 That photo almost looks like Thelma's appearance in the book more faithfully with the long mane and large Smile, Now I Kinda wish she looked like that in the movie, to respect the source material more.
